The VIZION’s looking a bit different this 2026 season.

CCM has returned with a new addition to the VIZION series: the VIZION 2, or VIZION 2026 stick. This time, it swaps the ultralow kick point with a supercharged mid kick point to enhance the game for power shooters—among other innovations. We’ll check out the specs, the new tech, and then determine if this stick is the right one for your game.

Graphics

The standard VIZION 2 boasts a black-and-blue colourway, with blues ranging from light to deep. All the tech you’ll find on the stick is also written along the shaft in matching colours.

The VIZION logo itself is rather interesting in how it’s been implemented. Of course, there is the main VIZION text logo near the bottom of the shaft. But then there are also two hidden V’s: one right in the centre, where the tech-style logos intertwine, as well as the pattern right inside the deep blue portions of the stick. It’s the kind of detail you may only catch on a second look.

Supercharged Mid Kick Point

This is where the VIZION 2 gets its main distinction from the first VIZION stick. The VIZION back in 2025 used an ultralow kick point, which prioritized a rapid, explosive release on the shot. The VIZION 2 uses a supercharged mid kick point, which means that rather than an explosive release, this stick focuses on explosive shot power by maximizing that flex point around the middle of the shaft.

The specs on this mid kick are a bit different compared to what you might find in CCM’s Tacks line. The top and lower portions of the shaft are much softer, with the centre—where the stick flexes—being where CCM made the stick very stiff. This is how it’s able to load up much easier for a more powerful release. CCM describes the effect as something similar to a bow and arrow effect; the tension from loading the stick would power the shot, and that stored energy releases all at once as soon as you follow through. The stick then springs back into position, once again ready to react to the play.

Mid kick points are favoured by many on the ice, though mostly defensemen, power forwards, and generally those who like to play a “quarterback” or puck control-focused playstyle. This is because they are built mainly for loading power and holding control of the puck for long periods of time. Many mid kick sticks today, like the VIZION 2, are built to be as light as low kicks to keep up with the growing pace of the game.

Construction

Key tech:

  • Supercharged mid kick point

  • ALUPLI composite

  • “R” geometry

  • Soft-stiff-soft blade

  • SigmaST2X carbon weave

Shaft

The VIZION features an “R” geometry, which stands for rounded corners. It’s very similar to their “T” (traditional) and “C” (contoured) geometry, but the corners bow just a little inwards, giving it that more rounded shape. That’s a notable change from the original VIZION, which used “EC,” or ergonomic contoured geometry, similar to CCM’s Ribcor Trigger series. Also, unlike the original VIZION, this stick does not have an asymmetrical top shaft.

The shaft construction was a major part of the innovation in the original VIZION, and that tech carries over to the VIZION 2. This stick features CCM’s ALUPLI composite, a construction strategy that layers carbon with aluminum layers for better durability without increasing weight.

That was the thing with aluminum back in the day—much stronger than earlier and even later materials, but its other issues were where the material fell short. Aluminum sticks tended to be heavy, and although they were stronger than composite, that also meant they did not flex well and were prone to dents, which could be just as bad as the stick breaking altogether. With ALUPLI, you get the best of both worlds in a single stick: added durability from aluminum at just 360g of weight (at the highest flex rating).

As a top-of-the-line CCM stick, the VIZION 2 also features a SigmaST2X carbon weave, which is pretty durable on its own. The ALUPLI composite takes that durability even further.

Blade

CCM carried that construction tech we saw in the supercharged mid kick point all the way into the blade as well. We also saw something similar in the FT8 Pro stick, where CCM experimented with their soft-stiff EVO blade. The VIZION features a soft-stiff-soft EVO blade, which is exactly as it sounds. The toe and heel have been softened for flex, reactions, and to counter the torsion and cupping around the puck that could sometimes happen. The stiff blade is built to support that supercharged shot you’re getting from the mid kick point, keeping the puck stable throughout the load all the way to the final release.

That stiff mid-section coupled with a softer heel is also great for catching passes, as the firmer mid-blade provides a much more solid platform for the initial catch, while the heel is ideal for cushioning and settling the puck once it lands. The combination helps the puck “die” once it lands on your stick, making it much easier and more efficient to catch and react instantly to the play.

Final Thoughts - Is This Stick the Right One for You?

The VIZION 2 is a mid kick hockey stick, and if you already know you prefer mid kicks, this stick is absolutely one to consider when shopping for your new stick. With the innovations in the kick point and blade, the VIZION 2 is designed very specifically to enhance power and control in your shots and playstyle.

This stick pairs amazingly with quarterback defensemen, power forwards, and even playmakers who like to take control of the play, either taking their time along the sideboards or holding the line at the top of the offensive zone. Defensemen who are confident in their passes and like making those long, stretch outlet passes from zone to zone will also greatly benefit from this stick’s design. Inversely, the stick’s blade design is also great if your role on the team requires catching a lot of hard passes.

There’s also the construction to consider. ALUPLI makes this stick sturdier than average, so it can be an ideal option for players who really like to lean into their shots.

CCM really took that versatility idea they leaned into with the limited-edition VIZION series, but made it more focused. Going from a low kick to a mid kick in the same stick family is a notable shift, but it also means players of every style can benefit from a VIZION stick and its innovative tech, especially the ALUPLI construction. If you were really interested in what the VIZION had to offer in the first iteration but weren’t looking to switch to a low kick, now’s your chance to get that same versatility in a mid kick profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kick point is the VIZION 2 stick?

The VIZION 2 (sometimes referred to as VIZION 2026) has a supercharged mid kick point, which means its built to focus on powerful shooting and puck control.

Didn't the VIZION stick come out before? Is this the same stick?

Two different VIZION sticks have been released so far: a VIZION stick (2025) and VIZION 2 stick (2026). They are not the same stick.

The Hockey Shop refers to the two as "VIZION" and "VIZION 2," but others may refer to them as "VIZION 2025" and "VIZION 2026," respectively.

What's the difference between the VIZION and VIZION 2 sticks?

There are a few notable differences between the two VIZION sticks that actually make them built for completely different types of hockey players.

The original VIZION stick had an ultralow kick point and a special top shaft.

The VIZION 2 has a supercharged mid kick point and rounded geometry throughout.

Is VIZION a CCM or Bauer stick?

Equipment in the VIZION family is made by CCM.

What equipment family does VIZION belong to?

VIZION doesn't belong to any of CCM's main gear families (Tacks, Jetspeed, Ribcor).

It is a versatile specialty gear family set on its own, and is primarily limited edition.

There aren't any more original VIZIONs left in my specs, and I prefer a low kick point. Any suggestions?

If you can no longer find a VIZION (2025) stick in your specs, you can check out CCM's Ribcor Trigger Unleashed series, which is very similar, though there are a few differences still, which you can read about in the Unleashed Pro Review.
