Toe Ties “Simplified”
“Is there anything else I can use instead of laces to attach to my pads to my skates?”
We’ve lost count of how many times that question from our customers over the years. Goalies everywhere have been on the hunt for a better solution to attach their pads to skates since...well, since goalies have been attaching pads to skates.
There are number of different reasons behind the question - some are looking to remove stress form hip joints and some are simply looking for an easier way to strap on their pads. The product we've been recommending the most lately when that question pops up is one of our newest accessories - the Brian’s Smart Strap toe tie. It has quickly become one of our most popular replacements for goalies looking to swap out their traditional skate lace set up.
It might not sound like much but this small accessory could have a big difference on your game’s performance as well as reducing the time required to gear up.
One of the biggest benefits aside from being extremely easy to ease is that the Smart Strap helps to relive stress on ankles, knees and hips without losing the connected feel to your pads.
The elastic material they’ve used in the assembly allows this flex and skate rotation to happen freely when in the butterfly positon. When the goalie transfers back to a standing stance positon the elasticity allows the pad to rotate back normally to a square position.
Brian’s Smart Strap toe tie easily attaches to any pad with a conventional toe bridge with lace.
The Smart Strap toe tie attaches by looping the two ends of the strap through your cowling and attaching on the top of the skate. Durable high quality Velcro is used to attach the straps together.
