The Warrior Ritual V4 Pro Senior Goalie Stick is the newest addition to Warrior’s Ritual line, with the V4 Pro being offered as the performance model this year. This stick features a mid-flex profile, Asymmetrical Shaft Geometry, Minimus Carbon 18, Vibex Vibration Reduction, and TwinSpar technology, all of which is brought together using the Hi-Fused Construction process.
Shaft Construction
Warrior utilizes the Asymmetrical Shaft Geometry in their V4 Pro stick. The shaft construction improves bottom hand control, increases accuracy, and provides goalies with the confidence and leverage needed to guard against heavy puck impacts.
The V4 Pro stick makes transferring flex energy through the stick easy for maximum shooting power and stability using a mid-flex profile, which gives more power and control for hard tape-to-tape passes and long distance plays to clear the defensive zone.
Paddle Construction
Warrior used the TwinSpar Paddle Reinforcement in the V4 Pro, a feature they brought back to their lineup in 2021. This technology increases stability and allows for an easy-loading mid-flex profile that helps to maximise shooting power. In addition to the TwinSpar technology, this stick also utilizes Vibex, a vibration reduction technology that dampens the feel of puck impacts, which aids the overall longevity of the stick.
Blade Construction/Stiffness
The V4 Pro Stick is extremely stiff and lightweight, allowing for efficient puck play and deflections. The Minimus 18 Carbon coupled with the Hi-Fused stick construction creates an elite stick that is performance-minded and well balanced.
Graphics
Warrior has used white, black, and silver colouration for the V4 lineup of this year. Exposed carbon weave is seen on the V4 Pro blade, with white meeting the rest of the paddle at the heel and going up. Silver accents are seen throughout the stick, with the Warrior text and logo set in silver.
Grip
Warrior uses a standard grip in their V4 Pro stick. Paired with the Asymmetrical Shaft Geometry, goalies benefit from additional leverage and accuracy, as well as an increase in bottom hand control.
Blade Patterns, Paddle Lengths, and Level of Play
The Warrior Ritual V4 Pro Senior Goalie Stick is available in 23”, 24”, 25”, and 26” in the White colourway. This stick comes stock in two blade patterns: Twist and Mid.
The Twist blade pattern, also known as the W33, is a rounded heel, square-toed, slightly open-faced blade with a mid-twist curve.
The Mid blade pattern, also known as the W32, is a square heel, square-toed, slightly open-faced blade with a mid curve.
Goalie Stick Sizing Information
Unlike other pieces of gear, Goalie Sticks are sized mostly to the goaltender’s preference and playing style rather than their height. The most important measurement, when purchasing a new goal stick, is the paddle height (the wide portion of the stick), which is usually taken from the heel of the stick to the shaft/paddle interface. The reason for the paddle height’s significance is because it sets up the goaltender’s depth in the ready stance and (if properly sized) positions the blocker in an optimal position.
Sizing Your Goalie Stick
To start analyzing the size of your goalie stick, put on your goalie skates to get an accurate height of where you will be in your stance. If you’re looking to be even more accurate, strap on your goalie pads and blocker as well. Once that is done, get comfortable in your natural stance (the one you’d be in during a majority of gameplay) and look for the following:
1. The entire blade of the stick is flush with the ground while being 1’ - 2’ in front of your feet
2. After getting your stick into the flush position, check that the inside edge of the blocker hand sits on the outside edge of the goal pad (this is while holding just above the paddle).

Goalie Stick sizing can be very subjective compared to other pieces of equipment. The reason for this is the ambiguity of each goaltenders ‘natural stance’, especially with younger goaltenders. It is rather common for children to use taller sticks in comparison to their height, as their stance depth isn’t usually as aggressive as a seasoned goalie.
The shaft length of a goalie stick is usually best left at its stock length, as it serves to counteract the weight of the blade and ideally place the center of gravity at the top of the paddle. The one exception to this rule is for advanced puck handlers, cutting the shaft will allow more power transfer when shooting as a result of being able to keep the blade flush to the ice while near the goaltender’s feet.
