The Vaughn Velocity V9 INT Goalie Blocker is designed for the Intermediate goaltender who wants a lightweight balanced blocker. The V9 Int features a bindingless board design offering maximum coverage along with a thicker board offering increased stiffness while a composite finger protector gives superior finger protection. Vaughn uses a soft VX suede palm for comfort while a thumb pillow and a soft padded cuff offers increased protection.
External Material
The V9 Int blocker features a bindingless, durable synthetic leather face with QuickSlide accents in the high wear areas such as the nose and finger areas. The back hand uses a combination of nylon and mesh keeping it lightweight and durable.
Internals
A thicker foam board adds stiffness and rigidity to the blocker while giving more active rebounds. The V9 Int blocker keeps the traditional Velocity shape with a deep board top bend allowing for better puck deflection
Palm Material
The palm is made of a soft VX suede material with a large suregrip overlay that runs the entire lengths of the palm and thumb. The index and small finger uses a seamless wrap around design to increase the durability of the palm and give a more comfortable feel when holding the stick.
Side Hand Protection
The side hand of the V9 Int blocker is laced into the face and uses HD foams to increase the sidewall’s rigidity giving better side hand protection.
Cuff
The V9 Int blocker uses a short, floating cuff to offer increased wrist mobility. It's velcro adjustable in order to give goalies the option to wear the cuff as tight or loose as they want while offering good protection.
Hand Protection
The thumb of the V9 Int uses a moulded design in order to offer superior protection while the finger guards use a composite core and HD foams. The back of the fingers use thin HD foam padding to catch anything that passes by the large finger protectors. Finally, a large sewn in floating index finger protector sits flush with the stick to catch pucks riding up the paddle.
Colors Available
The Vaughn Velocity V9 Intermediate Goalie Blocker comes in four standard colour options including All White, White/Red, White/Black, and White/Blue.

More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
