The Vaughn Velocity V10 Intermediate Goalie Blocker features new graphics and a reinforced front board that enhances precision in puck deflection and features a deep board top bend for effective puck control. The inner core foam board is molded and layered with thick HD Foam to ensure rigidity, while the back hand cushion pad prioritizes comfort and protection.
The palm incorporates an index and small finger trigger design for improved grip and comfort, mesh palm gussets offer ventilation, and the high hand position optimizes net coverage. The design also encompasses finger protectors with HD foam, double-layered protection for the side index finger, a substantial solid side shield, and a palm layout that aids dexterity and stick control. More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
