Intro & New Features
Drawing inspiration from iconic Lefreve design heritage, the L87, part of the Heritage Goalie Collection, blends classic style with the cutting-edge performance of the Catalyst PX5 Series. Built with all-new technology engineered for today’s fast-paced game, the L87 delivers quick, controlled rebounds and responsive movement across the crease. Designed for elite-level agility and precision, this helps goalies stay locked in and ready for the next critical save.
External Material
TRUE continues to use the traditional JenPro material on the outer construction of this blocker. This durable material provides the blocker with a reliable and solid outer build, and it helps keep the shape for longer. JenPro is a trusted material and is found on nearly all of TRUE’s goalie equipment because of its reliability, appearance, and overall performance that it provides.
Internal Construction
The blocker board is made up of thick foam and has a 615-degree face edge. This new sidewall, combined with a more aggressive angle, makes redirecting pucks easier and more accurate.
Palm Material
This blocker has a Nash Palm. Nash is a synthetic material known for its durability, grip, and feel, often used in high-end goalie equipment. It’s a popular choice as it is designed to be comfortable for goalies while also providing an additional layer of protection from impacts while making saves.
Cuff Design
Previously redesigned for the PX5 blocker, the half-piece cuff improves response with a more direct connection between the palm and blocker board. Additionally, TRUE’s half-piece cuff helps to reduce binding between the blocker cuff and chest protector sleeves, improving the range-of-motion in the wrist.
Thumb Protection
The thumb is protected with a new inner cuff/ thumb guard designed for better board-to-hand integration. With a series of added foams for protection against impacts, goalies can be assured that this blocker will keep them secure while on the ice.
Sizes & Colors
The TRUE Catalyst L87 Senior Goalie Blocker comes in Black, Black/Red/White, Black/Yellow/White, Tan/Black/White, Tan/Green/Yellow, White/Black, White/Royal/Red, White/Red, White/Royal, and White. This blocker is also offered in full-right, which is designed for those goalies who use their blocker on their left hand.

Goalie Blockers Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Blocker Hands Simplified
- Regular - Blocker worn on your Right Hand
- Full Right - Blocker worn on your Left Hand
