Intro & New Features
TRUE has come out with a new blocker for the 2025 season. The Catalyst Junior blocker is designed specifically for young goalies who are looking for a comfortable, yet reliable and protective blocker. This blocker comes with a 595 blocker face, an open cuff and a nash leather palm.
External Material
TRUE continues to use the traditional JenPro material on the outer construction of this blocker. This durable material provides the blocker with a reliable and solid outer build, and it helps keep the shape for longer. JenPro is a trusted material and is found on nearly all of TRUE’s goalie equipment because of its reliability, appearance, and overall performance that it provides.
Internal Construction
The board is made up of thick HD foam and has a 595 blocker face edge. 595 is what TRUE uses to describe the side of the blocking surface. The surface is effective in bouncing the puck, thus helping and improving rebound control.
Palm Material
This blocker features a nash palm material. This material is a durable and reliable material that provides goalies with high-level protection but also top-tier comfort as well. Its design has been improved to last longer, keeping the blocker intact for longer periods of time. Additionally, its grip helps goalies hold their sticks and focus on that next save.
Cuff Design
The Catalyst junior blocker is designed with an open cuff. This build allows for more wrist rotation and mobility for goaltenders, allowing goalies to move more freely while making saves. Additionally, it allows goalies to improve rebound control by getting their blocker in the way of shots.
Finger Protection
This blocker features the integration of a straight index protection. The finger protection runs with the blocker sidewall, protecting the fingers but not interfering with the stick usage. This allows goalies to feel protected from the toughest impacts, but also allows them to pay with more confidence.
Sizes & Colors
The TRUE Catalyst Junior Goalie Blocker comes in a regular catch hand (blocker on right hand), and in the following colors: Black, White, White/Black, White/Red, and White/Royal.

Goalie Blockers Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Blocker Hands Simplified
- Regular - Blocker worn on your Right Hand
- Full Right - Blocker worn on your Left Hand
