Intro & New Features
Get a classic feel and look with the Sherwood 5030 HOF Senior Hockey Shoulder Pads. These pads feature a single density foam back with augmented spine protection. These pads are designed for the recreational level hockey player and still provide a solid level of protection and comfort to players, without compromising mobility.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The 5030 HOF shoulder pads feature PE plastic shoulder caps. The shoulder caps are designed to provide protection to players shoulders during the game, so they aren’t affected by impacts. As a secondary level of protection, these pads also include molded foam, which is added to provide comfort to the shoulders, but also absorb impacts and keep players protected.
Sternum Protection
The sternum and chest area is protected with a single density foam chest pad with PE inserts. This design by Sherwood helps to keep players protected and secure from impacts, while providing a layer of foam that is also comfortable and does not restrict mobility.
Spine Protection
Similar to the sternum, the spine is protected with a single density foam pad. The back also features an augmented spine protection, which is designed to provide support to the players backs and spine.
Bicep Protection
The biceps are protected with a single density foam bicep. When adjusted correctly, the foam wraps around the bicep, providing comfort, but also support in all areas from impacts. Additionally, these shoulder pads have molded PE inserts to provide an additional level of impact absorption.
Attachment
Sherwood added velcro straps to adjust these shoulder pads. By simply pulling the strap and attaching it to the landing, players can have a snug and secure fit so that none of the padding will feel out of place. There is also a front lacing system, which allows players to tie the lacing and further tighten the shoulder pads, to achieve a more custom feel.
Sizes
The Sherwood 5030 HOF Senior Hockey Shoulder Pads come in sizes Small, Medium, Large, Extra-Large, and Extra-Extra Large.

Warrior Shoulder Pads Fit
In comparison to other brands, Warrior shoulder pads will fit more snug. Using 2-timer adjustable straps and an axy-sym fit, Warrior fits the pads as tight to the body as possible and maintain a snug fit around the sides and chest.
At The Hockey Shop, we believe a shoulder pad should ultimately offer you’re the protection you need, in addition to being mobile and comfortable. Some preference is involved in the overall fit of the pad, but we find sizing the pads based on a chest measurement is a very accurate measure. Once you have this measurement, you can match to the sizing charts.
Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit:
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
