The CCM Tacks XR Hockey Gloves are a performance-level glove that is designed to provide a high-level of protection with specs that can be seen at the elite-level. Players can experience ultimate comfort and protection while remaining lightweight and mobile with the gloves through a variety of technologies and unique features.
Construction
The CCM Tacks XR hockey gloves are constructed with a Max Protection ASD (Anatomical Shield Design), coupled with pro approved polyester. This is designed to provide elite-level protection in a highly mobile and roomy design that is paired with great tech to keep your hands comfortable and ready for whatever the game brings.
Finger Design & Protection
The fingers on these gloves are made to be highly protective. They feature D30 foam padding in the knuckle blocks and HD reinforced finger blocks. This allows the fingers to be highly protective, especially where it matters most, while delivering optimal freedom of movement. The glove features a 3-piece index finger protection.
Backhand Protection
The backhand of the XR gloves feature a stiff, low profile integrated impact protection plate that is made of injected high-grade polyethylene plastic. This provides the player with elite-level impact protection on the back of the hand to protect against the hardest of shots, while having ventilation ports to enhance airflow throughout the glove.
Thumb Design
The Tacks XR hockey gloves feature an elite flex thumb. This 2-piece flexible thumb is designed to deliver better mobility and an incredible grip on your stick. This thumb design provides coverage in all areas, while allowing for better mobility so that players aren’t feeling restricted.
Palm Material
CCM designed this glove with a Sensalast Palm with reinforced treated polygiene odorcrunch. This provides the glove with an elite feeling palm that gives ultimate comfort, allowing for great interaction with your stick.
Cuff Design
While remaining highly protective, this glove features a Flexmotion Cuff. This cuff design allows for unrestricted wrist movements, flexibility, and protection plus breathable protection. Players can benefit from this design as the cuff promotes mobility, while still being highly protective.
Liner
The inside of the glove is lined with a Polygiene liner that has Odorcrunch treated liners and comfort foams. The soft and comfortable foam with enhanced antibacterial and odor fighting treatments are designed to help keep your gloves feeling fresh. The superior quality liner also feels great and helps players stay dry on the ice.

Player Glove Sizing
To ensure you're purchasing the proper sized glove, one simple measurement using a measuring tape is all it takes to accurately find your size. Place the tip of the tape measure at the top of your middle finger (or which finger is longest) and measure all the way down to the bottom of your palm. Record this measurement and multiply by two. This will be roughly the size of glove you need. Compare your height, weight and age to the charts provided on each model as well to find your best fit.
Sizing Hockey Gloves (Growing Players)
If you are including growing room in the glove for a young player, always round the measurement up to the next whole number (ex. 3.2” x 2 = 6.4” -> 7”).
Making Sure Your Hockey Gloves Fit (Growing Players)
To ensure hockey gloves fit properly for a growing hockey player, have them place their hands in the glove with their palms facing up. Have the player place their hand inside the glove as they would if they were wearing the glove in a normal situation. Take your index finger and put it between the top of the player's palm and the edge of the cuff. Typically you want no more room than the width of your index finger.
You also want to have the player press their fingers against the palm so you can see the outlines. Make sure their pinky finger is at least 3/4” of the way into the pinky slot of the glove finger. To determine if the glove is too small, take your fingers and feel along the inner cuff of the glove just after the palm material. Make sure the player’s palm is not spilling over the material and onto the cuff. You also want to look at the fingers of the glove, and make sure the player’s fingers to fit in each finger slot, but they should not be pressed up against the edge or touching the gussets.
Sizing Hockey Gloves (Full-Grown Players)
When sizing for true size (no growth room) using the above measurement, round measurements less than 0.5 down to the next whole number. If the measurement ends in .5 or higher, round up to the nearest whole number.
Making Sure Your Hockey Gloves Fit (Full-Grown Players)
To ensure your hockey gloves fit properly, you want to take a look at two things.
