Serving players since 1988.Intro & New Features
The Tacks XR Pro protective gear is built for players who bring intensity to every shift, no matter the pressure, the speed, or the hits. With impact-absorbing construction, and an adjustable fit that moves with you, each piece is designed with high performance materials allowing full range of motion. The Tacks XR Pro protective gear delivers maximum coverage and comfort without the bulk, so you can focus on the game from the first shift, to the final buzzer.
Construction
These shoulder pads feature an e-fit flexible neck opening. The elastic neck opening allows for an easy fit so that young players have an easier time putting on their equipment.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The shoulders are protected and covered with molded PE shoulder caps. These high-quality PE plastic shoulder caps combined with the PE foam provide the shoulder pads with added comfort and protection.
Torso
The torso section of these shoulder pads features an adjustable belly pad with full-length hook and loops adjustments. The large landing and height adjustable belly pad is removable which allows the player to customize their protection to a feel that is tailored to their needs. The shoulder pads also feature a lightweight foam liner that is designed to provide comfort to players while on the ice.
Bicep Protection
The biceps are protected with PE molded caps that feature a height adjustment system. The PE molded caps reduce the effect of impacts taken by dispersing the force away, keeping players protected. The bicep protection also features easily adjustable height straps which allow players to customize their bicep protection.
Sternum Protection
The sternum is protected with floating compress molded EVA foam with D30 in the plexus. This provides pro-level protection powered by a high quality foam and D30 for extra impact distribution in a floating construction that moves comfortably with the player.
Spine Protection
CCM added a Bionex shield spine protector to protect the spine. This pro-level spine foam package helps to offer improved protection on the back, providing players with coverage throughout the back.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
