The Tacks XR Pro protective gear is built for players who bring intensity to every shift, no matter the pressure, the speed, or the hits. With impact-absorbing construction, and an adjustable fit that moves with you, each piece is designed with high performance materials allowing full range of motion. The Tacks XR Pro protective gear delivers maximum coverage and comfort without the bulk, so you can focus on the game from the first shift to the final buzzer.
Construction
The shoulder pads feature a max coverage anatomical shield design that provides amplified mobility with molded Zotefoam and a decoupled back panel. This provides maximum protection with compress-molded Zotefoam side panels along with front and back air channels. This piece is optimized to protect elite players, and provide great ventilation to help cool the body throughout the game. The decoupled back panel allows for increased mobility and range of motion.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The shoulders are protected with flexmotion dual core HD foam caps that feature exposed foam covers with improved D30 in the shoulders and AC joints. This provides the player with enhanced pro-level protection that is further enhanced to help absorb and distribute the toughest impacts and increase mobility. This provides protection in all angles with the new low profile Flexmotion shoulder cap construction.
Torso
The torso of these shoulder pads features air channels with Adapfit length adjustable straps. This provides elite ventilation with air channels inside the liner and length-adjustable torso straps to facilitate finding your ideal custom fit. Additionally, these shoulder pads feature a front pad that is removable and adjustable that provides extra lower protection and offers added coverage to protect and limit spacing for a close to the body feel.
Bicep Protection
These shoulder pads feature HD molded foam guards with large ventilation ports and an Aer-Tec suspension system in the biceps. The lightweight custom comfort fit has a maximum level of protection and elite ventilation in biceps for cooling to help keep your body dry. The newly designed assembly provides seamless interaction between the bicep and shoulder cap.
Sternum & Spine Protection
CCM implemented a floating sternum and spine hybrid shields with D30 inside the back and sternum areas. The floating sternum provides elite mobility and comfort while the compress molded HD foams with D30 in the sternum and back spine offer maximum protection.
Liner
Inside the shoulder pads, players will be able to experience a sweat repellant Zotefoam liner. This unique foam only design allows the closed cell Zotefoam to do its job by keeping players dry, while the innovative air channels in the front and back provide a pro-level airflow.
Clavicle
The floating clavicle coverage has PE plastic guards with D30 technology in the AC joints. The integrated D30 is designed to disperse impact energy away from the clavicle and provides protection from the worst of impacts.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
