New to 2024 is CCM's Tacks XF Pro Shoulder Pads. Providing exceptional protection and confidence on the ice to move comfortably with style. These pads feature an adptfit system which will have you covered so that you tailor your level of protection to your needs and customize your fit. Also included is the AER-TEC thermoregulation technology, allowing your body to stay cool and dry so you can focus on performing your best each and every shift.
Construction
The max coverage ASD (anatomical shield design) + amplified mobility design with molded zotefoam gives maximum protection with compress-molded zotefoam side panels along with front/back air channels. This piece is optimized to protect elite players, and provide great ventilation to help cool the body throughout the game.
Shoulder Caps
The dual core HD foam caps allow for durability and protection. While incuding exposed foam covers + D30 zero shoulder joints all togther provides this pad with being a top of line model. The caps provide enhanced pro-level protection further enhanced to help absorb and distribute the toughest impacts from all angles with the updated D30 zero construction in the shoulder/ac joint.
Torso
The shoulder pads feature air channel + adptfit lebtgh adjustable straps to provide elite ventilation with air chanels inside liner and length-adjustable torso straps to facilitate finding your ideal custom fit.
Biceps
Featuring HD Molded Foam Guards with large ventilation ports + AER-TEC suspension system + adjustable strap length and height. Providing a lightweight custom comfort fit with a maximum level of protection and elite ventilation in biceps for cooling to help keep your body dry. Also includes improved interaction with elbow pad for better mobility.
Sternum and Spine
Including a floating sternum and spine hybrid shields + D30 at plexus & lower spine. The floating sternum provides elite mobility and comfort while the compress molded HD foam with D30 at plexus and lower spine offers maximum protection for when on the ice.
Liner
The sweat repellant zotefoam liner provides a unique liner-free design which allows the closed cell Zotefoam to do its job by not absorbing sweat. While the innovative AER-TEC air channels in the front/back provide and elite level airflow.
Clavicle
The shoudler pads iclude floating clavicle coverage with HD molded foam + newly placed D30 zero in the AC joint. The newly placed D30 Zero disperses impact energy away from the clavicle now protects you from the worse impacts.
Extra Protection
The height adjustable & removable front/back pads offer extra lower protection and added coverage to protect and limit spacing when interacting with your hockey pants.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
