Intro & New Features
New for 2024 from CCM is the updated Tacks protective line. The Tacks Vector Premier shoulder pads are a Source for Sports exclusive pad that combines elite protective features and a more affordable price point. Features include Vent-Tech, ADPTFit, and a Flexmotion base jacket. The Vector Premier looks to offer premium protection with the traditional Tacks fit.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The JDP-injected caps offer max protection and comfort. They are built to move and adjust with you to shield against impact, and their build works to disperse force away from the impact point for additional security.
Sternum Protection
The Tacks Vector Premier shoulder pads are equipped with multiple layers of protection over the torso and sternum. The Vent-Tech floating sternum provides both aeration and a high degree of coverage. The underlayer of the sternum is made of mesh for good breathability, and the middle layers incorporate molded HD foam in the construction. The front is covered with a molded MD EVA foam, Flexmotion base jacket with elite rib protection designed to contour around your torso.
Spine Protection
The spine is protected from impact force using the same plastic shields found in the sternum area. The Vent-Tech construction permits good airflow, so your back can keep cool and comfortable while you play.
Bicep Protection
The biceps on the Vector Premier can be adjusted in both length and width, allowing you to customize your fit for wherever you need bicep protection with its ADPTFit straps. Protective features in this area include an injected plastic guard and a foam bicep cushion.
Liner
The Vector Premier uses a sublimated liner and soft-feel front stretch panels for quality comfort and protection. The liners have been treated with an antimicrobial agent to keep you cool and dry, and the stretch feel panels have been engineered to move with you, ensuring that you are covered for the whole game.
Abdominal Protection Piece
The Vector Premier does come with a removable and adjustable abdominal protection piece, attached with velcro. This piece uses HD foam, as well as Vent-Tech technology to keep you cool. The Velcro adjustability covers a wide range, letting you decide how much of the pad you want to use.
Sizing
The CCM Tacks Vector Premier Junior Hockey Shoulder Pads come in Small, Medium, and Large.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
