CCM has been hard at work updating their popular Tacks line of gear for 2022. During the design phase, CCM made sure to include many of their top tech from other areas, including D3O foam, NestTech, a FlexMotion cuff, and a Pro FlexThumb. Tacks is the tough line of protectives for CCM, and CCM made many construction upgrades to greatly enhance that durability while adding some extra mobility.
External Material
The Anatomical Shield Design is a major asset that the AS-V Pro gloves bring to the table. The glove overall is modeled to form around your hand with some additional space for greater comfort and mobility. Externally, CCM integrated a ton of different materials in strategic areas to enhance coverage, flexibility, durability, and comfort. CCM opted for tough nylon, breathable synthetic leather, and Nash material as the main materials used over the outside of the glove.
Finger Design & Protection
The Tacks AS-V Pro gloves are equipped with premium high-density foam and PE inserts inside the fingers. The fingertips are reinforced with smooth, durable Nash material for extra protection. The fingers have been built to be comfortable and flexible right out of the box, permitting you to perform at your best as soon as you step on the ice with them. To enhance those characteristics, both the middle and index fingers use a three-piece design.
Backhand Protection
What separates the AS-V from the rest of the glove line is the use of NestTech below the backplate and cuff. NestTech functions like a standard ventilation padding that most gloves have in their construction, with some additional flex and cushioning. Aside from the HD foam and PE inserts on the backhand, the AS-V Pro gloves also include an extra backplate with D3O foam to give the gloves increased protection.
Thumb Design
The Pro FlexThumb on the AS-V Pro is built for, as the name implies, superior flexibility. The two-piece design wraps around your thumb with some wiggle room, allowing you to comfortably and firmly grip your stick.
Cuff Design
The cuff is sectioned into multiple parts: a FlexMotion Segmented open cuff on the outside and a Sublimated Liner inside cuff on the inside portion. The FlexMotion cuff is a five-piece, open anatomical cuff that has been shortened for greater range of motion while stickhandling, without sacrificing protection. The Sublimated Liner inside cuff functions as part of the liner and has a soft cushioning texture. Its antimicrobial properties will keep you feeling dry and fresh all game long.
Palm Material & Gussets
CCM included many features in their AS-V Pro palm. The palm is not only made of AX Suede synthetic leather material, but it has also been reinforced with a Dura-Palm Pro material, keeping it from early wear and tear. The palm is tacky, which helps keep it attached to your stick while you play, with less effort required from you.
Liner
CCM included Polygiene Odor Crunch-treated liners and comfort foams to keep your hands comfortable and feeling fresh for longer. Polygiene has been used in a lot of high-end protective gear and has incredible antibacterial properties. CCM included Odor Crunch to enhance the effects of the liner.
Sizes & Colors
To change up the style a bit for 2022, CCM opted for a darker gold in their Tacks line rather than the classic yellow. The AS-V Pro comes in sizes 11” and 12” in Junior, and the following colourways: Black/Gold, Black/Red/White, Black/White, Navy/Red/White, and Navy/White.

CCM Hockey Gloves Sizing Chart
Player Glove Sizing
To ensure you're purchasing the proper sized glove, one simple measurement using a measuring tape is all it takes to accurately find your size. Place the tip of the tape measure at the top of your middle finger (or which finger is longest) and measure all the way down to the bottom of your palm. Record this measurement and multiply by two. This will be roughly the size of glove you need. Compare your height, weight and age to the charts provided on each model as well to find your best fit.
Sizing Hockey Gloves (Growing Players)
If you are including growing room in the glove for a young player, always round the measurement up to the next whole number (ex. 3.2” x 2 = 6.4” -> 7”).
Making Sure Your Hockey Gloves Fit (Growing Players)
To ensure hockey gloves fit properly for a growing hockey player, have them place their hands in the glove with their palms facing up. Have the player place their hand inside the glove as they would if they were wearing the glove in a normal situation. Take your index finger and put it between the top of the player's palm and the edge of the cuff. Typically you want no more room than the width of your index finger.
You also want to have the player press their fingers against the palm so you can see the outlines. Make sure their pinky finger is at least 3/4” of the way into the pinky slot of the glove finger. To determine if the glove is too small, take your fingers and feel along the inner cuff of the glove just after the palm material. Make sure the player’s palm is not spilling over the material and onto the cuff. You also want to look at the fingers of the glove, and make sure the player’s fingers to fit in each finger slot, but they should not be pressed up against the edge or touching the gussets.
Sizing Hockey Gloves (Full-Grown Players)
When sizing for true size (no growth room) using the above measurement, round measurements less than 0.5 down to the next whole number. If the measurement ends in .5 or higher, round up to the nearest whole number.
Making Sure Your Hockey Gloves Fit (Full-Grown Players)
To ensure your hockey gloves fit properly, you want to take a look at two things.
