Designed to provide the ultimate in comfort and fit, the Tacks 310 helmets from CCM provide a geometry that helps absorb impacts and a pro-preferred look. Similar to the late Resistance line, the Tacks helmets offer a single tool free adjustment at the back of the head allowing a customized snug fit. This single adjustment system changes the width and length of the helmet as well as securing the occipital lobe of your head.
On the inside of the shell, CCM D3O Lite foam pods. These pods of rate sensitive foam dampen impacts across all energy levels to better protect your head. As well, to finish the helmet, an I.Q.Shion comfort liner offers a premium level of comfort with a softer foam.

CCM Vector Hockey Helmet Fit
The Vector line of helmets fits very wide through the temples and side of the head while tightening around the back. This helps the helmets lock in your occipital lobe while providing enough room for wider heads.
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.

Great Fit. Reasonable Price.
My son blocked a slapshot with his helmet, causing us to toss it out and buy a new one. Having originally used a Bauer IMS for several years, the staff at the Hockey Shop fit him in two Bauer and two CCM helmets to find the best fit for his U11 head. He ended-up choosing the CCM Tacks 310, which he said felt like a blanket was wrapped around his head. After the staff swapped the cage, we paid and headed to the rink for a game. My son loved playing in the new helmet.

Smaller fit than the CCM Fit Lite
Fits smaller than large in FL90 which was out of stock. (Order was cancelled because of inventory mixup. I already had a FL60 in navel but wanted the royal blue. Was going to give the FL60 to my wife and order a royal blue helmet for myself. However, I had to reverse that decision because of the smaller make

Hi, I find that helmet very comfortable. But how should I clean it? After every game the internal padding liner (foamy) is soaked with sweat and stays there for weeks if not longer even in well ventilated area, I wash it with the shampoo but I'm not sure if it helps to kill bacteria inside the liner.

Hi Viktor, airing out and drying your gear after use is the best way to promote longevity and maintain the durability on your equipment. We'd recommend something like an anti-bacterial spray to prevent odors and to keep bacteria from growing. With the nature of some of the paddings and materials used in the helmets, moisture will retain a bit longer even whilst following these steps. With that being said, the best way to ensure longevity of the gear is to follow the steps above.
