The CCM Super Tacks AS1 shoulder pads are highly protective but remain a great low-profile option for players looking for the best of both worlds. The fit remains similar to the original Super Tacks shoulder pad with slightly beefed up padding in the chest and rib cage area.

Sternum Protection

Shoulder Caps
The CCM AS1 Shoulder Pad combines Dual Core HD foam shoulder caps with the highly impact absorbent D30 Smart Material which deadens the impact to help protect the joint.
Bicep Protection
Two-piece floating bicep has custom adjustment to extend protection from crosschecks. When dropped down the extra protection piece covers the gap between bicep protection and elbow pad nicely.

Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
