Now available at the retail level, the CCM Pro Spec Senior Goalie Pants are made for the goalie seeking an NHL-Level pant that moves with them. With a new double flap design, built-in Aer-Tec, removable internal belt, and more, the CCM Pro Spec Goal Pants are meant to perform at every stop.
External Material
Found in other top-spec goalie pants, the CCM Pro Spec pants have 420D high-abrasion nylon covering the exterior, with built-in breathability and stretch zones. A unique feature on these pants is the integration of A6 cut-resistant material in vulnerable areas, notably along the back of the leg and inner groin, where traditional padding would restrict movement. By adding the A6 material in these areas, goalies are better protected from accidents without compromising mobility.
Liner
The Aer-Tec Ventilation System is used in the Pro Spec pant to increase airflow by utilizing a perforated liner with airflow channels to promote sweat evaporation. Integrated in both the spine and the liner, this technology maximizes breathability through its strategic placement.
Fit
The CCM Pro Spec Pant uses a numerical fit system, offering five fits numbered 0-4. By using this system, goalies are able to choose whether they want a tighter or looser fit.
A segmented waist and spine design has been used to increase mobility and to accommodate both tuck and untucked preferences.
Waist Closure & Internal Belt
To adjust the pants, CCM has created an open waist with additional flex points and incorporated multiple fit technologies to make the best mobile protection available to goalies. The design of the Pro Spec pants features three separate waist adjustment and internal belt points, with traditional lace-up, an external belt, and a non-NHL spec removable internal belt with 10.5” of available adjustment.
Hip & Groin Protection
CCM has introduced a new segmented double-flap design, a popular choice by goaltenders that has been now implemented in the Pro Spec pants. The double-flap design maintains overlapping coverage throughout movements and goalie play styles. Additionally, new cut-resistant material with an ANSI A6 rating has been added along the back of the leg and inner groin to increase mobility without compromising protection.
Thigh Protection
Along the thigh, multi-layered molded foam is shaped to the form of the pant, with PE foam added for extra impact strength. The combination of these two foams help to reduce discomfort from impacts while remaining lightweight.
Leg Extension
A hidden zipper around the waist disguises a 1” goalie pant length extender.

Goalie Pants Sizing Information
Goalie Pants offer substantially more protection than their player counterparts. The hips are reinforced with high-density foam instead of a thin layer of nylon/elastic. The thighs of a goalie pants are usually squared off for coverage purposes and made with thick plastic and foam. The waist of a goal pant is also beefed up to protect vital organs. Even the way a goalie pant moves in relation to a player pant is even different. Hockey Player Pants are designed to move back and forth, while Goalie Pants are more effective for lateral movements that a goalie naturally has to make.
Why Proper Sizing Is Important
Properly sized Goalie Pants are imperative to make sure all of your goaltending equipment fits together seamlessly. An improperly fit goalie pant can cause your chest protector to ride up and feel uncomfortable. When a goal pant is fit properly, it integrates well with the fit of your chest protector to provide unrestricted movement and full protection.
Finding the Right Sized Goalie Pants
The first step is to take measurements that relate to the provided sizing charts on any individual goal pant’s product page on our website. Usually this is accomplished by matching a waist to a given size. Matching up waist sizes exactly isn’t always necessary as it is very common for goalies to wear pants that are wider to increase net coverage, mobility and comfort. Some goalies also prefer a looser fit around the waist and use suspenders to keep their pants from falling down.
Fitting Your Goalie Pants
After figuring how you want to wear the pants around your waist, it is important that the pant is sized such that they sit above the kneecap. This should leave enough room for the knee wing of the leg pad to rest on the inside edge of the knee. Pants that sit too low can interfere with the goalie leg pads. You also want to try your goalie pants on with your chest protector to see how the two pieces of equipment integrate with each other for mobility, and to make sure their are no gaps in protection. Lastly, make sure your goalie pants integrate well with additional knee protection. We strongly recommend trying everything on at once to make sure there is limited interference between all your goalie equipment.
