Introducing the new CCM Phenom Youth Goalie pants. These pants are specifically designed for youth goalies, while including many high-quality features including 200D nylon material, segmented foam, and a 2-piece molded foam thigh protector.
External Material
The outer portion of these goalies pants are constructed and made up of 200D nylon material. This level of nylon featured on the pants allows goalies to experience a pant that has a durable outer layer from impacts so that it won’t wear down as easily. The stretch zones added into these pants allow for more mobility, so that goalies aren’t feeling restricted.
Waist
The Phenom youth goalie pants are constructed with a tapered fit at the waist. This low-profile and lightweight design allows the pants to fit comfortably around the goalies waist, and when adjusted correctly, it provides a comfortable fit that stays in place throughout the game.
Thigh Protection
The thighs feature a 2-piece molded foam design. This construction is both lightweight and protective, and provides protection from impacts in all areas. The coverage is designed to contour around younger goalies' thighs and act as a shield, so that they aren’t feeling the impacts that the puck causes.
Hip Protection
To protect the hips, CCM added segmented foam into the hip area. The integration of this high-quality foam allows the protection to create a layer of comfort, but also durability so that goalies aren’t getting hurt when making saves.
Spine Protection
The spinal area of these goalie pants also feature segmented foam. The foam protection can be seen on the lower portion of the back, and allows goalies to be covered. The segmented foam is designed to absorb impacts and disperse impact force away, reducing the risk of injuries.

Goalie Pants offer substantially more protection than their player counterparts. The hips are reinforced with high-density foam instead of a thin layer of nylon/elastic. The thighs of a goalie pants are usually squared off for coverage purposes and made with thick plastic and foam. The waist of a goal pant is also beefed up to protect vital organs. Even the way a goalie pant moves in relation to a player pant is even different. Hockey Player Pants are designed to move back and forth, while Goalie Pants are more effective for lateral movements that a goalie naturally has to make.
Why Proper Sizing Is Important
Properly sized Goalie Pants are imperative to make sure all of your goaltending equipment fits together seamlessly. An improperly fit goalie pant can cause your chest protector to ride up and feel uncomfortable. Finding the Right Sized Goalie Pants
The first step is to take measurements that relate to the provided sizing charts on any individual goal pant’s product page on our website. Usually this is accomplished by matching a waist to a given size. Matching up waist sizes exactly isn’t always necessary as it is very common for goalies to wear pants that are wider to increase net coverage, mobility and comfort. Some goalies also prefer a looser fit around the waist and use suspenders to keep their pants from falling down.
