The CCM Next Hockey Shoulder Pads are designed for the recreational-level player, or people who are just getting into hockey. Constructed with comfortable padding in the shoulder and chest areas, as well as a built in liner, player can benefit from being protected on the ice, reducing the risk of injury.
Construction
These shoulder pads are constructed with a single-layer design with PE foam and V-Notch. This reliable protection has a light feel that is ideal for recreational players, paired with an easy fit opening that is perfect for players.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The shoulders are protected with molded PE shoulder caps. The full coverage design provides protection around the shoulder, preventing player from injuries.
Torso
The PE foam base on the torso provides the players with a lightweight fit that delivers great protection with a maximized landing zone for easy adjustment.
Biceps
The biceps are protected with compress-molded plastic. With a slip-on elastic sleeve construction, it allows for a closer fit while offering great protection.
Sternum & Spine
To protect the sternum and the spine, CCM implemented an anatomical floating foam and PE plastic construction. This is designed to provide rich and reliable protection from impacts, so that players are protected while on the ice.
Liner
Inside the shoulder pads, CCM added a sublimated liner. This liner is designed to provides high quality comfort, while featuring stretch feel front panels to help player move more freely.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
