Intro & New Features
CCM has created their most responsive Jetspeed skate to date. The FT8 Pro skate has been packed full of features and technological advancements, most notably in their Game Ready Fit and CCM exclusive Fors boot construction. Other features include a 205 stiffness rating, ADPT foam throughout the skate, the Step Blacksteel runner, a more aggressive speed pitch, reinforced eyelets and the Speedblade XS holder.
Skate Fit Profile
The FT8 Pro skate keeps comfort at the forefront of their innovations with an improved Game Ready Fit for its third generation. CCM has optimized the anatomical shaping to better lock in the heel and wrap tighter in the forefoot area. The precision provided by enhancing those areas leads to a more dynamic fit for high-level skaters, and when paired with ADPT Memory Foam, provides the player with a snug fit and keeps the foot aligned closer to the natural physiological composition of the foot and leg.
The FT8 Pro Skates come in three fit profiles: Tapered, Regular, and Wide.
Tapered: Narrow Forefoot, Narrow Heel, Low Volume
Regular: Medium Forefoot, Medium Heel, Medium Volume
Wide: Wide Forefoot, Wider Heel, Wide High Volume
These three profiles allow the player to choose a skate that best aligns with their foot profile in a particular skate family, removing limitations on choice based on fit instead of performance benefit.
Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
Previously introduced in the XF Pro skate, the new Fors Composite construction has made its way into the Jetspeed line with the FT8 Pro. Built into the One-Piece boot, the Fors construction has been designed to provide players with quickness and agility while promoting a better weight-to-stiffness ratio. The FT8 Pro skate has a stiffness rating of 205, an increase from its Jetspeed predecessor, which was rated at 195. This is achieved by weaving together premium composite materials to produce a high-end core, which improves rigidity and therefore the ratio. In addition to the Fors construction, the boot also sees a more aggressive shift in the speed pitch, allowing for quickness on the toe and a more explosive stride which is crucial for play at the highest levels.
Liner & Internal Padding
A TotalDri Pro liner is found in the FT8 Pro skate, which works to wick moisture away and keep feet comfortable and dry. This liner is treated with Polygiene, an antimicrobial technology that fights odor and bacteria so your feet stay fresh during play.
Lacing System
The skate continues to use the standard lacing system, with reinforced eyelets along the top for extra durability.
Tongue
The tongue in the FT8 Pro skate has been maximized for comfort by utilizing layered ADPT memory foam and a molded core, as well as a ribbed central channel that wraps around the foot for ultimate feel and comfort. This tongue also has FlexMotion, a technology that allows for better forward flex and lace-bite prevention.
Steel/Runner/Profile/Blade Holder
CCM has equipped the FT8 Pro skate with the XS Blacksteel runner. This steel is regarded as one of the highest quality options available on the market, with a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating enhancing edge hardness and glide and an extra 4mm in height over standard runners to add longevity.
The improved Speedblade XS Holder comes stock in the FT8 Pro skate. The quick-release holder and blade lock system have been optimized for quicker changes wherever they may be needed.
Insoles
A molded footbed with ADPT Memory Foam can be found in this skate, with advancements focusing on lightweight comfort and feedback. This insole has heel grip built-in to keep your foot positioned in place during play.
Graphics
The FT8 Pro skate takes after skates in the Jetspeed line, with red and black colouring seen throughout the skate. This years iteration takes on a more fluid design, with red meeting the carbon checkering found on the quarter package and a holographic CCM logo on the side and heel of the skate.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide
When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.
As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skates size 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.
It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.
An Ideal Fit: Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.
To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).
Sizing Children for Growth Room: If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.
***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
