Intro & New Features

CCM's next shift focus for the 2025 season is the new Jetspeed FT8 protective line. The Jetspeed FT8 gear puts emphasis on breathability and mobility, which means much of the new tech found in the gear will be light, discreet, and designed to keep you cool. The FT8 shoulder pads feature an Aer-Tec Thermoregulation System, durable shoulder caps, flexmotion base jacket, and a mesh liner treated with Polygiene.

Construction

The FT8 shoulder pads feature an Aer-Tec Thermoregulation System with reinforced panels with amplified mobility and molded PE foam. It is designed to provide elite and competitive players both lightweight protection and serious mobility with max ventilation to help keep your body dry and cool.

Shoulder Caps & Protection

The JDP injected shoulder caps have exposed foam covers which provides pro-level protection, dispersing the impact force away from the shoulder caps.

Sternum Protection

Like the rest of the gear, the sternum area is also designed to be breathable for the player, with a compress molded HD Hybrid sternum shield and has multiple ventilation ports. The shield works with the Aer-Tec Thermoregulation System to offer good protection alongside the mobility of the new FT8 design. The front is also protected with HD foam to provide an elite level of protection in those key areas.

Spine Protection

The FT8 spine is covered with molded PE to offer a good combination of flexibility and protection in the back area. It has been anatomically molded, meaning it is designed to fit over your back naturally.

Bicep Protection

The biceps are covered with PE-molded caps, similar to the spine, for pro-level protection and comfort. They also include length adjustment to get you the perfect custom fit.

Liner

The shoulder pads use a combination of a mesh liner along the shoulder caps and biceps. It provides max ventilation for cooling and evaporation to help keep the body dry, and is designed to reduce sweat absorption so you stay dry and your equipment stays light. The mesh liner has been treated with Polygiene and Odor Crunch and uses dry foam side panels.

Abdominal Protection Piece

The FT8 shoulder pads feature an AGI shield and PE plastic protection pad provide players with an added level of protection so players are protected. The extended coverage front panel covers all the key areas and keeps players secured from impacts.

Sizes

The Jetspeed FT8 Junior Hockey Shoulder Pads come in sizes Small, Medium, and Large.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing

Sizing before Purchase

To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.

Sizing after Purchase

Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.

1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.

  • This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
2. The bicep guards are positioned maximum halfway down the upper arm.
  • Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.

If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
