Intro & New Features
New for 2023, CCM has released the CCM Extreme Flex E6.9 Goalie Catcher. This catcher comes equipped with a 581° break angle which is seen on many CCM catchers. It also has a suregrip palm with added texture to provide a great fit and feel and a double straight tee for better puck absorption and tracking.
Break Angle
Inspired by the 580° break angle, this catcher features a 581° break angle. This shape is redesigned for enhanced closure, feel, and responsiveness.
Cuff/Thumb
The cuff and thumb area is built of Litecore material. It is a durable and light material that keeps the glove light on your hand, while also providing comfort and support. The lightweight injection-molded one-piece cuff design allows for mobility and easy movements that don't restrict you from making the next save.
Palm Stiffness
This catcher comes with a game-ready fit + layered foam protection. The easy break-in design is made to allow goalies to get their own personalized feel quicker, while also providing layered foam protection to keep goalies protected from puck absorption.
Strapping
The cross form strap is designed to secure the back of the hand via multiple attachment points for greater responsiveness while allowing for greater wrist mobility.
Finger Protection
The form fit with pinky and index finger fit system is a responsive and adjustable fit system which provides for a more personalized hand position. The heat-activated foam helps to improve the fit, feel and break-in of the glove.
Pocket Design
The pocket design features the double straight tee, which is optimal for puck absorption and tracking. Additionally, it features a skate lace webbing system. This design helps keep the puck inside the catcher when closing the glove, and is also very durable.
Backhand Protection
The backhand is protected with the HD Flexmotion 2 backhand. The strategic tri-flex design provides strong impact protection and also allows for easier mobility, not feeling restricted.
Palm & Internal Liner
Inside the catcher, we see the suregrip palm. The comfort fit has added texture and tackiness that provides a great feel and added control.
Color & Catch Hand
The Source Exclusive CCM Extreme Flex E6.9 Senior Goalie Catcher comes in colors: Black, Chicago, White/Black/Silver, White/Red/Navy, White/Black, and White. The black colorway comes with the option for a full-right catch hand, made for those who catch with their right hand.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
- Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
- Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
