External Material
The pro-level Optik X4 blocker is built to last with tried external materials. The Optik X4 blocker is made with a traditional JenPro external material, which can be found on nearly all Brian’s goalie equipment. This overall external construction also includes durable nylon bindings on the wrist and cuff components to prevent wear and tear on the seams.
Internal Construction
The beveled board profile enhances puck deflection and controlled rebounds, while the wide cuff and neutral hand position provides optimal mobility and a natural grip. These design elements allow goalies to handle the puck confidently and transition between saves effortlessly, ensuring a seamless performance on the ice.
Palm Material
The core palm material is breathable grey Clarino which is known for having a soft touch. The thin, flexible and durable Clarino fabric provides a responsive feel in your fingertips. For additional grip and padding, the soft texture grip palm layer also has ventilation to keep your hand cool while locking in the stick paddle and reducing vibrations. The vented air mesh gussets keep air moving through the blocker so you’re dry and cool while on the ice.
Side Hand Protection
Two key components in the Optik X4 blocker that improve side hand protection are the removable pillow and squared thumb. The protective pillows are located in the thumb and sidewall and can be adjusted or removed as needed. The squared thumb is less restrictive with the stick and allows the paddle to nestle nicely into the opening.
Cuff Design
The low and wide cuff opening is a key design that increases wrist mobility, while producing an additional level of protection from pucks, sticks, and skates. It is built to protect goalies, while also providing mobility so that they are not feeling restricted.
Strapping
Equipped with a traditional Velcro wrist strap, the Optik X4 blocker ensures a secure and adjustable fit or goalies. The adjustable Velcro sidewall strap increases the stability of the blocker’s sidewall, giving goalies greater control and comfort during gameplay. With the ability to customize the fit to their preferences , goalies can focus on making those crucial saves without any distractions.

Goalie Blockers Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Blocker is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Blocker provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Blocker Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Blocker size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Blocker Fit
It is important to ensure that the fingers tips lie close to the seam of the palm, or within 0.5” if the Blocker is for a young growing goaltender. Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector. You also want to ensure that the goalie can maintain control of their stick in addition to being able to maneuver the blocker when handling the puck.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Blocker can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
