Introducing the all-new Brian’s Kryptik Goalie Catcher, built for elite goaltenders who demand effortless closure, massive pocket volume, and next-generation impact protection. Stepping in to replace the Optik 4, the Kryptik carries forward the fan-favourite 40° break angle while upgrading key areas with an Ultrawide Double-T pocket, Brian’s Smart Dial strapping system, a BRI-FUSE reinforced one-piece cuff, and Koroyd Advanced Impact Protection integrated across both the palm and backhand.
External Material
The Kryptik catcher uses pro-grade JenPro synthetic leather across the exterior. This finish delivers long-lasting wear resistance and that classic Brian’s look and feel.
Break Angle
The Kryptik retains the proven 40° break angle from the Optik lineup. This break closes naturally and directly between the fingers and thumb, giving goalies an intuitive, pinch-style feel. It strikes an ideal balance between effortless, snappy closure and secure puck control, making it well-suited for a wide variety of catching styles.
Pocket Design & Palm Protection
The Kryptik introduces an Ultrawide Double-T pocket engineered for maximum depth and volume. This wider, deeper presentation stays visually large to give shooters less to look at while swallowing pucks and eliminating pop-outs.
The catcher comes stock with a Game Ready palm for an easy, broken-in closure from day one, now enhanced with Koroyd Advanced Impact Protection. Built directly into the palm, Koroyd’s engineered tubular structure absorbs and disperses high-velocity energy far more effectively than traditional foams alone. For goalies who prefer even heavier padding, Pro and Practice palm options remain available through Brian’s Customizer.
Strapping
The Kryptik is equipped with Brian’s Smart Dial System, allowing goalies to fine-tune their internal fit quickly and precisely. The twist-to-tighten dials offer micro-adjustments at both the wrist and backhand, locking the hand in for a secure, consistent feel throughout the game. To loosen or remove the glove, simply pop the dials upward.
Cuff & Backhand Design
The Kryptik features a BRI-FUSE Multi-Density Thermo Reinforced one-piece cuff, increasing structural rigidity in the cuff to prevent deflection and deliver predictable rebound control on hard shots.
On the back of the glove, a newly redesigned, more segmented backhand reduces restriction and significantly improves ease of closure compared to previous Optik models. Integrating Koroyd Advanced Impact Protection along the segmented backhand ensures your hand stays fully shielded against stray pucks, sticks, and heavy slashes in the crease without compromising flexibility.
Colors & Customization
At stock, the Brian’s Kryptik Senior Goalie Catcher is available in White/White, Black/Black, White/Black, and White/Black/Red in Regular hand, and in White/White for Full Right goaltenders.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
- Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
- Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
