Just received these - the very first time I tried them on and pulled the tab to open the velcro, the tab on the front of the right leg pulled loose. The waist in size Medium is pretty loose (30" waist) - barely enough grip with the elastic to stay up - but the thighs where the velcro is stitched on are VERY tight, while the rest of the pants have basically no compression. The silicone print isn't particularly sticky, so not sure they'll be much help keeping shin pads in place. I do appreciate the light fabric, plus the use of highly breathable mesh in the liner of the pocket for the pelvic protector and gusset to disperse heat, and I don't mind that the inseam is only about 25" as I wear taller socks, but I can't say I'd really recommend these.
