Intro & New Features
Bauer has launched the latest product for their women's protective line. Bauer Women's Pro Hockey Shoulder Pads are designed specifically for women and young female hockey players. Built with a lightweight full coverage design for the sternum and breast areas, a segmented spine with an HD foam insert, and a Thermomax liner, these shoulder pads are available in a variety of sizes and come in black.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
These shoulder pads feature low-profile shoulder caps. Its construction is designed to provide players with full coverage, keeping impacts and contacts away, allowing them to focus on the game. The low-profile design allows the gear to be more lightweight and gives players more mobility on the ice.
Sternum Protection
The sternum is covered with lightweight but durable foams to keep impacts away. Its full coverage design provides players with reassurance that they will be covered and protected. Providing full coverage to the sternum and breast areas, these pads allow players to keep moving forward after a battle or impact, leaving them protected and secured.
Spine & Back Protection
The spine is covered with segmented spine protection with HD foam inserts. This keeps the pads in one place, but also provides it with more support and durability. The foams are HD which means that they don't break down as easily, keeping the player protected longer. In addition to this, the back panel is protected with comfortable foam with an adjustable strapping system, giving players the option to customize the fit to their needs.
Bicep Protection
The biecps are protected with durable foams that keep it secure during impacts. The sleeve fit design keeps the pad in one place and restricts the pad from moving and falling out of place. Additionally, it is secured with adjustable straps to allow players to find that fit that is just right for them.
Liner
The liner used on these shoulder pads is the Thermomax Liner. It is designed to absorb sweat and any other moisture, to keep players dry and cool during the game.
Abdominal Protection Piece
The adbominal/mid-section is protected with an adapted vest that is built and attached to the clavicle area, which gives players an elite level of protection and support. The protective vest, with a women-specific pattern, gives women the support and protection they need when compared to other shoulder pads.

Player Shoulder Pad Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit:
- 1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury. 2. The bicep guards are positioned maximum halfway down the upper arm.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
