Intro & New Features
New to 2024, Bauer has come out with the Vapor V90 Goalie Catcher. This catcher features many similar specs that can be found within the Hyperlite2 catcher. It is equipped with a 90 degree Vapor break angle, CURV composite reinforced cuff, Catchgrip+ material, Defense Cloud Tech, and added rebound control foams to keep the hand save, secure, and comfortable.
External Material
The Vapor V90 Catcher is built of Catchgrip+ material, which is designed to optimize closure and control. Catchgrip+ enhances grip and responsiveness on the ice. This material has also been added into the fingers, providing added control of the puck.
Break Angle
This catcher features a Vapor 90° break angle. This break angle design allows for a better alignment for your fingers and provides goaltenders with a more natural feel when closing their catcher.
Finger Protection
The fingers and hand in this catcher are protected with CURV material and Defense Cloud Tech (DCT). Together, they provide goalies with an exceptional level of support and protection from impacts, helping to prevent injuries. The V90 also features rebound control foam to absorb impacts and control rebounds. The fingers are protected with an overlap pinky finger stall which provides goalies with added comfort as well as control.
Pocket Design
The pocket design uses a reinforced single T pocket. This provides a snappy closure and the reinforced construction helps maintain its pocket shape for longer. The full hand closure provides goalies with more control of the glove, making saves easier.
Strapping
Similar to the Hyperlite2 Catcher, the V90 features an adjustable Aerolite backhand to provide a lightweight feel and flexible backhand protection. With the backhand having full adjustability and the wrist having an optimized wrist strap, goalies can have a tighter or looser fit and feel comfortable while wearing this catcher.
Cuff Design
The CURV cuff is a composite layer built into the cuff that helps goalies keep their hand protected while taking shots and making glove saves. The V90 uses a one-piece cuff and is designed to maximize the catching area while the reinforced construction makes a more impact-resistant, lightweight feel.
Sizes & Colors
The Bauer Vapor V90 Senior Goalie Catcher is available in White and only in a regular catch hand.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
- Goalie Catcher Hands Simplified
- Regular - Catcher worn on your Left Hand
- Full Right - Catcher worn on your Right Hand
