Shoulder Caps & Protection
The shoulder caps are low profile and molded to lower wind resistance and make it easier to keep your speed and glide on the ice.
Sternum Protection
The Shift Pro shoulder pads use Bauer’s tried and true Vapor X-LITE shield over the sternum for elite protection against impact force coming in from the front. The X-LITE shield can be found in the majority of the Vapor protectives, and it is renowned for its lightweight and flexibility.
Spine Protection
The spine protection comes from an independent molded spine that is attached to a vent armour vest that wraps around the ribs, minimizing unprotected areas on the upper body.
Bicep Protection
The biceps are protected with an adjustable elastic strap. It provides players with the ability to customize their fit to stay comfortable but also protected while on the ice.
Liner
The Shift Pro shoulder pads feature the all-new Fly40 sublimated liner and fabric. This new material is designed to wick away moisture and keep the pads dry and cool while wearing them on the ice.

Hockey Shoulder Pads Sizing Information
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
- This is important because if the shoulder cap does not sit in the correct position, your clavicles, shoulders, and upper arms can become more susceptible to injury.
- Adjust the bicep guards using the Velcro straps located underneath the shoulder caps (if applicable). At the highest point, the bicep guards should not be more than halfway down the upper arm. This is important because they can interfere with your elbow pads, throwing off the fit.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
