Bauer continues to add more to the Hyperlite line with the Vapor Hyperlite shoulder pads. The design goes above and beyond that of the 2X series while bringing back some of their most reliable tech, including Aerolite shoulder caps and Hyperlite HD foam. The pads also improve in other key areas, particularly with the Thermocore Zero liner, one-piece EXO-Lite skin on the sleeve, and Hyperlite HD foam on the sternum. These pads also come equipped with a Flexaprene vest and enhanced spine and rib protection.
Shoulder Caps & Protection
The shoulder caps are made of Aerolite 2.0 and connected to the pads with Connektor to hold them in place. Aerolite is found in protectives across Bauer equipment and other sports and is known for its light weight and strong ability to absorb and disperse the impact from big hits.
Sternum Protection
The highest-end Vapor shoulder pads have evolved from using an X-Lite Shield sternum to a floating Hyperlite HD sternum with a Shocklite foam insert. In addition, the Flexaprene foam over the chest allows for optimal flexibility when in motion while giving the other foams a good, solid base. Shocklite can also be found in the Vapor Hyperlite helmet; this comfortable VTX foam is both lightweight and protective, complementing the Vapor line well. Hyperlite has been reused and added to the sternum’s construction because of its pliability and mobility, in addition to its great protective properties. Combined with the EXOLite skin over the sternum, you can rest assured you’ll be covered all game where it matters.
Spine Protection
The spine continues to use Hyperlite HD foam, same as previous generations. Hyperlite HD foam is comfortable and lightweight, keeping up with the aerodynamic Vapor line. Like with the sternum, another feature of the pads’ spine area is the Shocklite foam insert. This is a material known across Bauer’s products for having pro-level absorption qualities. The spine area is also equipped with an EXOLite skin for additional shock absorption.
Bicep Protection
The Vapor line is all about speed and maneuverability. The Hyperlite shoulder pads’ bicep has a one-piece sleeve-fit closure construction, meaning that it wraps around your bicep and stretches comfortably based on your needs while allowing for optimal movement. It is made of EXO-Lite skin, which is built to absorb energy from impact.
Liner
The liner has been upgraded to Thermocore Zero. Thermocore is amazing at repelling sweat and odour, keeping your pads fresher for longer. Keeping you nice and cool in your equipment is another great benefit of the liner.
Abdominal Protection Piece
The Vapor Hyperlite shoulder pads are equipped with a removable abdominal protection piece for added protection in that sensitive area.
Sizes
The Bauer Vapor Hyperlite Junior Shoulder Pads are available in Small and Medium sizes. If you are looking for a larger size, the Hyperlite gear is also available in Senior sizing.

Sizing before Purchase
To fit for a properly sized shoulder pad, you will need a soft tape measurer to measure and record your chest measurement. To do this, find the widest point of your chest (usually just below your armpits) and measure the circumference. Record the measurement in inches and compare to the available sizing charts in each brand. Also compare your height, weight and age to find your best fit.
Sizing after Purchase
Once you have received your new shoulder pad, stand in front of a mirror and strap them on. You will want to check the follow criteria to ensure a proper and protective fit.
1. The tips of your shoulder are sitting directly under the middle of the shoulder cap. If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap.
If you are checking sizing for a child, it is ok for the tips of their shoulder to be under the inner half of the cap and not directly in line with the middle.
