Intro & New Features
As part of the 2025 Vapor Goal collection, Bauer has unveiled the SV-Pro catcher. The SV-Pro catcher is equipped with key features similar to the Flylite catcher, but at a lower price point. It is built with a CURV reinforced cuff, a double T pocket design to aid in trapping the puck, and a nash palm for added grip and protection from impacts.
External Material
The catcher is constructed of catchlite palm and T-trap for easy closure. This design allows for a durable and reliable material that won’t break down easily and keeps the catcher in good shape. The T-Trap design allows for easy closure when making glove saves.
Break Angle
The 60° break closure is a deeper, more full-hand closure (fingers to the base of the thumb) that we’ve seen before in the Vapor family. It provides a good balance of coverage and mobility. The downward angle of the palm creates a large catching surface that can help goaltenders make catches on high shots, while also allowing for quick, fluid movements when making saves in tight. The angle of the palm is designed to align with the natural curvature of the hand, which can help reduce stress and fatigue on the wrist and hand over time.
Pocket Design
The SV-Pro uses a double T pocket design which provides a large, secure catching surface. The two-piece construction allows the goaltender to trap the puck between the two sections of the pocket, creating a stable grip on the puck. The double-T pocket design allows for quick and easy release of the puck, and it has a natural “funnel” shape that helps guide the puck towards the goaltender’s hand for cleaner and quicker catches.
Strapping
The strapping system on the Vapor series is made of adjustable straps and fasteners that can be configured to achieve the desired level of support, mobility, and comfort. The glove also includes an optimized wrist strap for a more comfortable and adjustable fit, as well as a fully adjustable backhand.
Cuff Design
The SV-Pro catcher features a CURV sheet cuff that provides structural stability that can resist even the toughest of impacts. The cutting-edge design guarantees long-lasting performance on the ice, enabling goalies to elevate their game to the next level.
Palm Design
The palm is protected and covered with a polycarbonate palm. This design is constructed to keep the hands secure and in place, while the added padding helps goalies stay protected from impacts that may hit them in an uncomfortable area. Bauer also incorporated a Nash grip palm liner which helps goalies to be comfortable and protected while making saves.
Colors
The Bauer SV-Pro Senior Goalie Catcher comes in White, Black, White/Black, White/Blue, White/Navy, and White/Red. Additionally, the catcher features a full-right option for those who catch with their right hand, which comes in Black and White.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
