Intro & New Features
As part of the 2025 Vapor Goal collection, Bauer has unveiled the SV-90 catcher. The SV-90 catcher is equipped with key features similar to the Flylite catcher, but at a lower price point. It is built with a CURV reinforced cuff, a single T pocket design to aid in trapping the puck, and a nash palm for added grip and protection from impacts.
External Material
The catcher is constructed of catchlite palm and T-trap for easy closure. This design allows for a durable and reliable material that won’t break down easily and keeps the catcher in good shape. The T-Tap design allows for easy closure when making glove saves.
Break Angle
The Vapor 90° break angle is characterized by a more open and rounded shape when the glove is closed and offers a wider catching surface, which is often preferred by goaltenders who prioritize a more natural feel and want a larger pocket to catch the puck with greater ease.
Pocket Design
The pocket design uses a reinforced single T pocket. This provides a snappy closure and the reinforced construction helps maintain its pocket shape for longer. The full hand closure provides goalies with more control of the glove, making saves easier.
Strapping
The strapping system on the Vapor series is made of adjustable straps and fasteners that can be configured to achieve the desired level of support, mobility, and comfort. The glove also includes an optimized wrist strap for a more comfortable and adjustable fit, as well as a fully adjustable backhand.
Cuff Design
The SV-Pro catcher features a CURV sheet cuff that provides structural stability that can resist even the toughest of impacts. The cutting-edge design guarantees long-lasting performance on the ice, enabling goalies to elevate their game to the next level.
Palm Design
The palm is protected and covered with a polycarbonate palm. This design is constructed to keep the hands secure and in place, while the added padding helps goalies stay protected from impacts that may hit them in an uncomfortable area. Bauer also incorporated a Nash grip palm liner which helps goalies to be comfortable and protected while making saves.

Goalie Catcher Sizing
More times than not, the fit of your Goalie Catcher is often overlooked. This is likely the result of the limited size availability compared to other pieces of equipment, however a properly sized Catcher provides you the protection and stick control you trust.
Which Catcher Size is for you?
The first step to finding the correct Catcher size is to utilize the “heel-of-palm-to-tip-of-middle-finger” measurement. This measurement will generally send you to the appropriate size you need.
Analyzing the Catcher Fit
It is important to make sure the palm lines up properly within the catching glove, so that it can be closed without excessive force. New goalie gloves will be difficult to close initially, but through either a standard break-in process, or "baking" the catcher with our in-house convection skate ovens, they will soften over time.
*We do not recommend using any conventional in-home ovens, as the results have been very unpredictable in the past and could damage your Catcher.*
Next you want to ensure the adjustable wrist strap goes directly across the wrist bone, and has minimal to no interference with your chest protector. The goaltender should be able to swivel their wrist to accommodate a range of save selections without any restrictions from the chest protector.
Sizing for Growing Goaltenders
For growing goaltenders we recommend following the guidelines set above, rather than sizing up to accommodate growth. Oversized goalie gloves restrict control, especially for young developing goalies. As you climb the size ladder for Catchers, typically the glove requires more strength for pocket closure.
Which Hand Do I Need?
Figuring out which hand you need for your Catcher can be slightly confusing. Goalies generally refer to themselves as "REGULAR" or "FULL RIGHT". Below is the easiest way to simplify which hand you need.
