External Material
Bauer has updated their external material on the Shadow line opting for a more durable material they call their SL1D3R skin. This external covering is a one-piece molded design that provides better sliding, increased rebound pop and improved durability.
Internal Construction
The Shadow pad features an updated ShockLite+ core with a Curv composite reinforced thigh. This new core is noticeably stiffer than that of the Mach and is designed to boost rebound speed while remaining light and true to the feel of a stiff pad.
Pad Break
When compared to the Mach series, the Shadow Leg Pads offer a softer feel thanks to the Flex Profile 3 pad break. This creative design increases flexibility, enabling goalies to react to shots faster and move more fluidly. The Shadow Leg Pads redefine performance between the pipes by emphasizing agility and control, giving goalies the advantage they need to control the game.
Boot Angle & Toe Taper
The boot angle on the Mach leg pad is a soft flex 120 degree boot. When paired with the stiffer core, a softer boot flex allows for better mobility in the crease compared to other stiff pads.
Strapping
With the Supreme Tune Fit+ strapping system included in the Shadow Leg Pads, goalies of all shapes and sizes can be guaranteed a custom fit. These pads are enhanced with new fixed lead reinforced toe ties and a 4-hole sewn-in toe block, providing unmatched stability and control.
