The top-of-the-line skates from Bauer in 2026 are the Bauer Supreme Fuse Hockey Skates. These skates feature numerous upgrades from the Supreme Shadows, including Fuse Forged Carbon, AMP Flex 3.0 Facing, and the Fuse-X Toe Cap. With Supreme skates, it’s all about power and making the most out of every stride, and Bauer has enhanced the ability to do just that with these skates.
Skate Fit Profile
The Supreme Fuse skates come in Bauer’s Fits 1, 2, and 3, which is a concept that debuted in 2020. This was a great innovation, considering how the three lines, Vapor, Supreme, and Nexus all historically have their own fits, despite performing differently. Now, those with narrower feet for example can enjoy the powerful stride enhancements that come with the Supreme line. Below is how the Bauer Fit System compares to previous year’s of Bauer Skates:
- Fit 1 = Low Volume, Narrow Width (closest aligned to the Vapor fit profile)
- Fit 2 = Medium Volume, Medium Width (closest aligned to the Supreme fit profile)
- Fit 3 = High Volume, Wide Width (closest aligned to the Nexus fit profile)
Boot Construction & Stiffness
The Supreme Fuse skates are built with a Fuse Forged Carbon outsole. The Fuse outsole is a one-piece rigid composite construction offering a push plate under the foot to reduce any compression or energy loss through the stride. This stiffens the lower portion of the skate to optimize energy transfer from the load to explode mechanics of skating. Bauer has also integrated 12K CURV Composite into the construction of this skate, which makes the skate both lightweight and thermoformable. The Thermoformable Anaform Upper adds to the moldable properties of the boot.
Liner & Internal Padding
The skates are outfitted with a Lock-Fit Pro liner for extra grip, durability, and moisture management, so you can be comfortable and perform at your best. The skates use Aerofoam Pro technology in the ankle padding, which is designed a bit thicker than conventional foam but is more form-fitting and thermoformable.
Tongue
As the game gets faster, it is becoming no longer good enough just to make the tongue move with your stride. Taking some inspiration from the old Vapor 2X Pro, the Supreme Fuse hockey skates now use a Fuse Powercoil tongue with increased recoil speed. Incorporating recoil into the tongue helps add that extra push you need to empower your stride.
Toe Cap
A new feature in this year’s Bauer Supreme skate is the addition of the Fuse-X Toe Cap. This toe cap fuses the fit and feel of the Mach toe cap with the performance and function of the Shadow. The toe cap has X-shaped wings that extend into the lower facing and wraps under the foot, replacing the abrasion pad to increase the torsional stiffness in the lower half of the skate.
Tendon Guard
Bauer’s original flex tendon guard has been redefined in the new Reflex tendon guard. This new tendon guard does not use inserts, and its aggressive shape and flex notches add spring to your stride while keeping it tough enough to recoil back quickly, ready to strike again.
Lacing System
Following a similar theme to the Supreme skate lines, the Fuse uses a new Active Motion Performance flex into the skate. The new AMP Flex 3.0 facing, is a flex technology added to the top 3 eyelets to allow increased forward flex through the skating stride, enhancing range of motion for the skater. This innovation has been modified to help skaters tie their skates to the top eyelet while retaining optimal flex in their ankles.
Insoles
The Supreme Fuse skates use a Lock-Fit Pro footbed, completing the internal lining. The Lock-Fit Pro footbed is designed to, as the name suggests, lock your foot in place and make it easier for you to push off and keep control of your skating. This design specifically is found often in the highest calibre of the Supreme skate line because of how well it grips and enhances power in every stride. With the addition of Grip Print, the skate now have even more hold on your foot.
Steel/Runner & Blade Holder
Bauer has continued to use their Choose Your Steel initiative, allowing you to use either of Bauer’s newest steel. This skate comes with Fly-TI which is a premium, titanium coated steel designed for enhanced edge retention. The Supreme Fuse also comes equipped with the Powerfly holder, which has been designed to adapt and respond to every skating move by focusing on three areas: the front post, the back post, and the hyperbolic bridge. The stiff front post increases energy transfer in every stride, while the flexible back post delivers faster side-to-side motions and aids in quicker pivots and transitions. The hyperbolic bridge optimizes balance and power to help you unstoppable on the ice.
Sizes
The Bauer Supreme Fuse Senior Hockey Skates come in sizes 7-12 with full and half sizing available (Fit 1, Fit 2, Fit 3). Fit 3 is only available in sizes 7-10.5.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide
When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.
As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skates size 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.
It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.
An Ideal Fit: Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.
To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).
Sizing Children for Growth Room: If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.
***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
