The Bauer Supreme 3S Pro Intermediate Hockey Skate is the newest member of the Supreme family. Following Bauer’s new fitting process, the 3S Pro will be a skate that opens up options to all foot profiles to find the right skate for you!

With the focus on its new fit style, explosive power and control, new Asymmetrical Toe cap and other upgrades, this will be a skate you don’t want to miss out on!

Performance Skate Fit System
Bauer’s Performance Skate Fit System is a revolutionary new way to fit skates. The traditional D and EE widths have now been replaced by Fit 1, Fit 2, and Fit 3. This might sound a bit confusing, however this will give you more skate options to wear in the Bauer family of skates, ultimately providing you with the perfect fitting skate.

Previously you made Bauer skate purchases based on the “Vapor Fit”, “Supreme Fit”, or “Nexus Fit”. Now all 3 skate fits are available to wear with “Supreme Features”, or “Vapor features”, whichever aligns with your preference. Below is how the new Bauer Skate Fit System compares to previous years of Bauer Skates.

  • Fit 1 = Low Volume, Narrow Width (closest aligned to the Vapor fit profile)
  • Fit 2 = Medium Volume, Medium Width (closest aligned to the Supreme fit profile)
  • Fit 3 = High Volume, Wide Width (closest aligned to the Nexus fit profile)

Boot Construction/Stiffness Profile
Bauer has constructed the Supreme 3S Pro with the focus on Elite level hockey players. The 3S Pro skate features Bauer’s 3D Lasted CURV Composite material. The CURV Material used in the 3S Pro is lightweight and offers top of its class thermalforming composite. Comfort Edge Padding compliments the top of the boot to reduce bite when performing stops, starts and aggressive tight turns.

Bauer has introduced a new feature exclusively to the Supreme line, with the flex of each skate geared towards matching the flex of the boot to the player's skating abilities. On the 3S Pro Intermediate hockey skate, the flex profile is stated to be 75 flex points, where its other sizes in the senior range are stated to be 80 flex points and junior range are stated to be 65 flex points. With this flex profile integrated into the 3S Pro boot, this will provide increased range of motion, heightened lateral and torsional stiffness which translate to the highest form of energy transfer.

Asymmetrical Toe Cap
With Bauer seeing great success in the Asymmetrical Toe cap they installed in the Vapor line, they have added this toe cap to the 3S Pro. With the data collected over the 400,000 scans, it has been proven to enhance the fit to players who fit the Supreme skate not just to the Vapor skate. This Asymmetrical Toe cap low volume reduces negative space and optimizes foot stability which promotes explosive power transfer with every skate stride.

Bauer has styled its 3S Pro tongue with similar construction from last season's 2S hockey skate. The 3S Pro tongue resembles the Classic Felt tongue you would normally find in the myBauer custom option. The tongue includes a 52 oz. felt base with an injected insert on the face to provide protection and comfort against lace bite and also gives the tongue spring in your stride.

Liner/Internal Padding
Since making big upgrades to multiple areas of the skate since the 2S, the 3S Pro comes out of the box with a game day ready comfort before heat molding. With the new Fit styles that Bauer has provided, getting in the 3S Pro is seamless for any customer. The 3S Pro features the Lock Fit liner to provide grip, durability and moisture management for peak performance. Pairing with the Lock Fit liner, Bauer has upgraded the internal foam to AeroFoam+ memory foam which delivers a pillowy soft comfort while providing a snug ankle wrap.

This will be the first season with the newly introduced Tuuk Lightspeed Pulse Blade on the Ultrasonic skate. What you will notice in the Pulse steel is a Mirror like finish, a premium grade steel composition which allows for easier sharpening and increases the lifetime and durability of the blade. This season, you will receive a Power Profile which will only come when you buy the Ultrasonic. Bauer has built a strong working relationship with ProSharp and believes the Power Profile (Quad series) suits the Supreme line very well. You will maximize control, speed and more power from your stride all while being able to do so on a shallower sharpening. Any Pulse Ti steel you purchase aftermarket will be a generic profile for custom profile options done by us!

The holder used on the 3S Pro intermediate is the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge with quick release trigger system. This holder is the number one holder used by NHL and professional players everywhere.

Redesigned Flex Tendon Guard
The Flex Tendon guard makes a return to the 3S Pro with a couple tweaks compared to the 2S. From its predecessor, the 2S, the 3S Pro will have a redesigned tendon guard similar to the Ultrasonic. The Flex Tendon guard comes as a smooth one piece construction, with no stitching seams. This will provide a comfortable ride without any irritation from the seams on last year's 2S skates. This provides a top notch level of support and flexibility which would suit explosive, elite level skaters well.

Hockey Player Skate Sizing Guide

    Things to consider:
  • Age
  • Measurement from longest point of foot (cm)

When sizing for the correct size of a skate, we always advise taking the measurements below from a sitting position and not standing upright. Additional weight on your foot/feet can skew your result and misrepresent your foot size. The reason for this is that as you put your full weight on your feet, the arch of your foot will collapse and cause your foot to appear wider or longer than it actually is.

As well, please be aware that skate sizes and shoes sizing do not match exactly. As a general guideline, skate's size 1 - 1 ½ sizes smaller than shoes.

It is ideal for a player to have a tight, snug fit both in length and width as this will provide the best performance and durability. If a skate is too big you will feel your feet slide around and you will not get the full performance out of the skates and can also develop calcium deposits - Haglund’s Deformity or “Bauer Bumps” for lack of a better term although this issue doesn’t only occur with Bauer models.

An Ideal Fit
Stand with your skates laced and your heel snug in the heel cup. Your toes should just barely feather the end of the toe box. Bend forward into a skating stance. Your toes should pull back slightly from the toe box. Once heat fit, your foot should slide back into the foams of the skate and the length you felt in your skating stance will more-or-less become you standing size.

To obtain the measurement above you will need a soft tape measure and a pen. Start by placing the tape measure flat along the ground in a straight line. Sitting in a chair, place your foot down with the longest point of your foot (usually big toe, or second toe) in line with the edge of the tape measure. Make sure you keep your weight off of your foot. Take a pen and mark the tape measure where the edge of your heel ends. Record this length in cm. This measurement will correspond with the sizing charts in each brand below, if you do not see your exact measurement, select the size with the next size increment above your measurement (i.e. you measure 24.9 cm, you would select 25.1 cm or Size 6).

Sizing Children for Growth Room
If you are purchasing skates for your child, it is common and usually recommended to add some additional room in the skate to increase the last, we recommend no more than 1 full size. Feet stop growing around ages 15 – 15 ½, and from ages 14 - 15 ½ we would recommend adding only half (1/2) a size in length. Follow the same measurement instructions as above, once you obtain your true size move up ½ or 1 size.

***Sizing of skates is very preference based and these measurements will not guarantee a fit that is right for you. Please use these as general guidelines, for the most accurate fit we always recommend getting measured by a professional skate fitter at our store or your local pro shop.***
