The Bauer SH1000 is a street hockey goalie stick for driveway games, gym floors and ball hockey leagues. The paddle and blade are plastic, so the stick stays light in the hands and takes the abuse of pavement. It is a recreational stick, built for young goalies learning the position and for anyone stopping shots away from the rink.
The paddle is the part that matters most on a goalie stick, and the lightweight plastic build here keeps the blocker hand from tiring over a long session. The blade is a straight pattern, which suits goalies who push the ball with either side and are not fussy about a curve. Because the stick is moulded plastic rather than composite, it scrapes and scuffs on concrete and keeps going instead of chipping apart.
