The Bauer Re-AKT 70 Helmet is a cutting-edge and protective hockey helmet, designed for the recreational player who is slowly investing in the game. It features a mono-lock adjustment system for a snug and customizable fit, a 3D EPP wrapped base and ventilation ports to keep the helmet dry and cool during wear.
Outer Shell Construction
The helmet has a 3-D molded EPP base with integrated ear guards and features VN foams in the key impact areas. When combined, this offers players a strong outer shell that will shield them from even the strongest blows. The interior VN foams complement the shell by offering a soft, cozy fit, while also adding an additional level of support.
Internal Foams & Liner
Inside the helmet, Bauer added a combination of soft and mid density foam to wrap around the players head and keep them protected. This design is soft, comfortable, and form fitting in addition to being lightweight. In terms of the liner, this helmet has a sweatband to manage moisture, but also includes ventilation ports throughout the helmet to keep it cool and dry.
Fit & Sizing Adjustment
To adjust the helmet, Bauer has continued to use their mono-lock adjustment system. This system uses a single, easy-to-use mechanism to adjust the helmet to any fit that is desired, giving the players a secure and snug fit. By simply flipping a part of the helmet, tool-free, the helmet can be adjusted to any size depending on head shape and width.
Combo
The Re-AKT 70 cage combo offers players to buy a helmet with a cage already attached, ready to go right out of the box. This particular helmet uses a Bauer I cage and includes adjustable J-Clips.
Certification
This helmet is certified with HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and the CE (European Community) certification. These stickers indicate their compliance with the applicable standards in different leagues.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Bauer Hockey Helmet Fit
These helmets tend to fit narrower in width and very standard in length. Bauer helmets tend to be a very middle of the road approach in shape and fit a large majority of heads. For players that have a narrower head these helmets will be very comfortable.
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
