Intro & New Features
Bauer rolls out the new Re-AKT 65 helmet for the 2023 season, which combines the protective capabilities and comfort of the traditional Bauer 4500 helmet with the Re-AKT series of helmets. The Re-AKT 65 uses the original Re-AKT shell, a mono-lock system, PU and VN foams, and a 3D wrap base to bring you solid protection and comfort in a simple, more budget-friendly helmet.
Outer Shell Construction
You may notice that the shell of the Re-AKT 65 looks very similar to the original Re-AKT, and that’s because this new helmet uses the same shell. The Re-AKT 65 helmet, keeping true to its predecessor, is built upon a solid foundation, maintaining a reliable and durable shell construction. Crafted from a combination of polycarbonate and ABS plastics, this high-impact-resistant shell is designed to provide exceptional protection against collisions and impacts on the ice.
Internal Foams & Liner
The Re-AKT 65 helmet boasts an inner foam and liner system designed to prioritize both comfort and protection. The soft-to-the-touch PU foam, complemented by a comfort wrap, ensures a comfortable fit that players can rely on. Strategically placed VN foam inserts enhance shock absorption, reducing the impact of collisions. Additionally, the incorporation of lightweight and durable EPP foam enhances the helmet's overall protective capabilities, guarding against potential head injuries. Please note that despite the protective capabilities, no helmet can 100% protect against concussions.
Cage Construction
The cage combo of the RE-AKT 65 Helmet features a Profile I facemask, which has a carbon steel construction and uses an oval-style wire, effectively keeping your face protected from impact while still allowing for great vision. The cage is CSA, HECC, UKCA, and CE certified.
Fit & Sizing Adjustment
The helmet uses the same Mono-Lock fit system as seen on the original Re-AKT. Located at the back of the helmet, the Mono-Lock fit system consists of a dial or a slider mechanism. Players can easily adjust the fit by turning the dial or sliding the mechanism, allowing for quick and precise customization based on their individual head shape and preferences.
Certification
The Re-AKT 65 is certified with HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and CE (European Community) certification. These stickers indicate their compliance with the applicable standards in different leagues.
Sizes & Colors
The Bauer RE-AKT 65 Hockey Helmet comes in Small, Medium, and Large sizes in the following colourways: Black, Navy, Blue, Red, and White.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
