Using the most popular Bauer shell worn by the most elite players, this helmet has been redesigned for the game’s youngest players. This youth-specific design features elite-level fit, comfort, and safety technology packed into a classic, pro-level look.
Outer Shell Construction
High-quality material and foams are used in the helmet’s shell to provide superior impact absorption and durability. Its molded, multi-density liner offers complete protection from all sides without sacrificing comfort, letting young players give their all to their performance.
Internal Foam
Inside the helmet, Bauer added optimized foam pods that are designed to provide comfort and protection. These foam pods and padding design allow the player to comfortably put this helmet on, reducing pressure points and discomfort. While providing protection from impacts, this helmet also features a spring loaded occipital system, which is designed to keep the head in place while wearing the helmet, not allowing for any unwanted shifts in the helmet.
Fit & Sizing Adjustment
The FreeForm adjustment system offers hockey players the ability to adjust the width and length independently to allow them to find the fit that is right for them and their heads.
Cage & Chin Cup
The RE-AKT 155 Youth Helmet combo comes with Bauer’s new Contour facemask. It is designed to be lightweight and unobstructive. This contoured face mask uses stainless steel chrome wires to bring comfort, style, and protection to every shift. This cage also comes with a Defense Could Tech floating chin cup, which features an extra layer of foam for added comfort.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Bauer Hockey Helmet Fit
These helmets tend to fit narrower in width and very standard in length. Bauer helmets tend to be a very middle of the road approach in shape and fit a large majority of heads. For players that have a narrower head these helmets will be very comfortable.
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
