The Bauer Re-Akt 150 Hockey Helmet is the first helmet that features independent width and length adjustment - this means it’s the first helmet that will fit virtually any head shape. While all helmets have the ability to adjust in one way or another, the adjustment range of the Re-Akt 150 is approximately 2.5 times more adjustment than any other helmet on the market.
Outer Shell Construction
The outer shell of the Re-Akt 150 is made using a three-piece design for easy length and width adjustment and is composed of a lightweight high-density HDPE.
Internal Foams
Bauer’s Comfort Pod Liner system is a hinged pod design with layered foam to adapt to the shape of the head.
VTX Technology is Bauer’s patented lightweight liner material for all-around impact performance. VTX foam is placed in the front, top and rear of the helmet.
Fit & Sizing Adjustments
The Re-Akt 150 helmet has an independent width and length adjustment system that can be adjusted through three tool-free adjustment hinges/clamps, for a fit that truly is your own. This FreeForm adjustment system allows for 18mm of width adjustment – this is 2.5 times more adjustment than any other helmet on the market.
Certification
These helmets are certified with HECC and CSA certification, so they are legal for use in both Canada and the United States.
Cage
The Profile III cages offer a redesigned classic style with a flatter front face similar to the Profile II. The cage enhances vision with a flattened stainless steel oval wire frame and is designed to fit on all Bauer masks and most others. A dual density chin cup offers protection and comfort and floats independently of the cage to sit tight to your chin at all times. Moisture channels are also built into the chin cup to keep you feeling dry and comfortable while allowing the excess sweat to drain away.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Bauer Hockey Helmet Fit
These helmets tend to fit narrower in width and very standard in length. Bauer helmets tend to be a very middle of the road approach in shape and fit a large majority of heads. For players that have a narrower head these helmets will be very comfortable.
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
