The Bauer Performance Baselayer Pant is a compression pant worn under hockey pants and shin pads. The whole point of it is that it does not bunch up once the pads go on, which is where a cheap base layer fails. Players who end up with chafing or a rolled waistband after a period are the ones who notice the difference.
The fabric is 84% polyester and 16% spandex, so it stretches in every direction and springs back rather than bagging out at the knee. Mesh panels sit in the groin and through the inner legs, the two spots that get warmest under a shell, to vent heat and move sweat. HeiQ Fresh treatment slows the development of odour, so the pant stays fresher between washes. An elastic jacquard waistband holds the waist without a drawcord, and a locker loop at the inner waist gives you somewhere to hang it to dry.
The finishing is kept quiet: a tonal Bauer wordmark on the left side and a woven jacquard label with the Bauer icon on the back. Junior and senior cuts are listed, in sizes from small to double extra large. A compression fit is meant to be snug, so take your usual size rather than going up.
