Junior length, 52 inches with a 52 flex, P92 pattern in left or right hand.
The Bauer i3000 ABS Wood Hockey Stick is a one-piece wood stick with a multi-ply birch shaft and an ABS blade. It is the inexpensive, hard-wearing option: the stick you leave by the back door for road hockey and outdoor ice.
ABS is a tough plastic blade covering. It holds up on asphalt, concrete and gym floors far better than bare wood or a composite blade, and it keeps a flat face for passing and ball control. A birch shaft is heavier than composite and does not snap back the same way, which is fine for the job this stick does and part of why it lasts.
It comes in three lengths, each with a flex matched to the player size. Youth is 45 inches with a 42 flex, junior is 52 inches with a 52 flex, and senior is 59 inches with an 87 flex. The blade pattern is a P92 in left and right hand, with a straight blade offered in the youth size for players who are still sorting out a hand.
Good for beginners, ball hockey and anyone who wants a stick for outside without putting a composite at risk.
Shaft: Multi-ply birch
Blade: ABS
Blade patterns: P92; straight blade in youth
Youth: 45 inches, 42 flex
Junior: 52 inches, 52 flex
Senior: 59 inches, 87 flex
Pick the length by player height: standing in shoes with the toe on the ground, the stick should reach between the mouth and the nose, and no higher than eye level for a player who is still growing. Youth, junior and senior each come with a flex matched to that length, so choosing the right size sorts the flex out for you. A wood stick can be cut down, and cutting it shorter makes it stiffer.
