This polo comes from the Bauer Golf Collection, the off-ice side of the line aimed at players in the summer. The idea behind it is simple: a golf shirt cut for the shape a hockey player actually is.
The fit is tapered rather than boxy, so it follows through the chest and waist instead of billowing out over a belt. The fabric is a blend of 51% cotton, 44% modal and 5% spandex. The cotton carries the hand feel, the modal keeps it smooth and hanging well, and the spandex gives it enough stretch to get through a full swing without the shoulders binding. It does not feel like a stiff tech polo, and it does not feel like a heavy cotton one either.
The placket uses rubberized snap buttons instead of sewn buttons. That means no thread to work loose and nothing to catch, which is a small thing you only appreciate a season in.
Senior sizes run S through 2XL and the chart is in the sizing tab. It suits players heading to a team golf day, anyone who finds a standard polo too loose through the middle, and golfers who want some stretch in a shirt they will wear all afternoon.
