Bauer has partnered with Aetrex, a global market leader in data-driven orthotics and comfort footwear to create the Bauer Aetrex Skate Orthotic Hockey Insoles. Aiming to take over the hockey skate fitting process, Aetrex and Bauer have engineered three fits for their insoles: Fit A, Fit B, and Fit C. These fits have been designed to increase contact and to best support feet.
Fit A:
Low arch, high pronationFit B:
Medium arch, high pronationFit C:
High arch, no pronationFit A is best for those with severe/heavy pronation. The insole can help with those issues, as the insole has been formulated for those needing extra support with flat feet.
Fit B is best for those looking for standard support. This support is beneficial to those looking for that extra bit of generalized support.
Fit C is best for those with a moderate to high arch, with heavy forefoot pressure. This fit is designed to provide comfort and support to those with higher arches.
Why Aetrex?
Aetrex's partnership with Bauer has led them to develop an orthotic insole that is not as stiff as a traditional support system. The orthotic insoles are designed to be closer matched to your foot shape than a generic insole which offers a less ideal "one size fits most" approach, which may not target problem areas as effectively.
How to Size
Your insole size will be the same as your skate size. For half sizes, it is recommended that you round down to the nearest size. For example, if your skate size is 7.5, it is likely the best fitting insole will be a size 7.
How to Find Your Fit
Our in-store Bauer FitLab experience is like no other. Aetrex has supplied Bauer with scanners that can determine the length, width, girth, instep height, arch
