Availability: In-Stock Now
A completely new layup allows for an even quicker release. Designed with feedback from NHL players and validated in the CCM Performance Lab.
Being able to constantly improve upon an already successful platform can be somewhat troublesome, but the innovators at CCM always manage to pack something new into their sticks. Case in point, CCM’s RIBCOR line has always been known for their ability to release the puck quickly with minimal load and the newly designed RIBCOR Trigger only looks to improve upon past achievements. With a redesigned flex profile, upgrades in durability along with much better feel for the puck are just a few of CCM’s changes for the RIBCOR Trigger. Let’s take a closer look at CCM’s new RIBCOR Trigger.
ASY-1 Flex Profile
It’s always a good thing when you see manufacturers take feedback from their pro’s and implement improvements for the average consumer and CCM has done just that with the ASY-1 Flex profile. The completely new layup allows for a quicker release of the puck which should translate to better performance on the ice. The pro inspired design was validated in CCM’s Performance Lab to ensure you get the best performing stick possible. The profile was specifically designed to maximize the performance of every fiber in the stick so the puck releases quicker than previous RIBCOR sticks.
Pop-Matrix Technology
If you’re familiar with CCM’s RIBCOR lineup, then you know all about their Pop-Matrix construction. The performance fibers are constantly in tension for a quick and efficient transfer of power and loading with the fibers being protected by the outer layers. This means more efficient loading and an increase in power versus other designs on the market.
Ascent Blade 2
Other than the ASY-1 Flex, the biggest change to the RIBCOR Trigger is the introduction of the Ascent Blade 2. The new design allows for the blade to be lighter which increases the feel for the puck while maintaining the stiffness in the toe for maximum accuracy and durability. A welcomed change over the previous Ascent design.
Technora Reinforcement
For the construction of the shaft, CCM has opted for their tried and tested Technora Reinforcement which is an Aramid fiber that is able to provide incredible durability to the shaft to prolong the life of the stick. Additionally, the use of the Aramid fiber structure doesn’t compromise the performance of the stick due to its unique bending properties.
Low Kick
Like previous sticks in the RIBCOR line, the Trigger ASY is no different as it features a low-kick point for that quick release and unreal accuracy.
RIBCOR Lineup
If you aren’t in the market for a top end stick, the CCM’s RIBCOR lineup has some excellent offerings that are sure to keep your wallet intact, yet provide players with excellent performance and features. The RIBCOR 49K, 47K, and 45K all feature that great low-kick point that you’ve grown to love with that easy to load design for a quick release. Also, all three of the sticks feature a power tape ratio of 3:1 meaning more vertical stiffness for less wasted energy through the shaft, and more energy is transferred to the ice and blade for more powerful, accurate shots.
Specifically speaking, the RIBCOR 49K as well as the 47K feature Popmatrix Technology as in the RIBCOR Trigger ASY, which means that as the fibers are in tension, the transfer of power is more seamless and efficient overall. Additionally, both the 49K and 47K come standard with the Ascent blade which includes a newly optimized stiffness profile that goes from softer in the heel to extra stiff at the toe for a great combination of both feel and release quickness. The CCM RIBCOR 45K features Easy to Load Technology which is able to provide a unique stiffness profile that mirrors the RIBCOR shaft. Further, the 45K comes with the SXX2 blade which provides excellent feel, and is stiff in the heel transitioning to extra stiff in the toe for that quick release.
Overall
The CCM RIBCOR Trigger ASY provides some much needed upgrades over previous generation’s Reckoner. An all-new flex profile increases the quickness of puck release. It takes some points from CCM’s pros so you know it’s been thoroughly tested to provide maximum performance. Enhancements to the blade help the overall feel of the stick, setting it apart from the Reckoner. The new additions to the blade help to balance the stick out so it’s neither blade heavy or top heavy. Overall, if you’ve loved RIBCOR sticks in the past, you’ll probably love the Trigger ASY even more. With some meaningful changes, the stick becomes entirely different from others in the low-kick point category. Although, if a top end stick isn’t in your budget, CCM offers others in the RIBCOR line that can help put the puck in the back of the net without straining your wallet.
