Bauer Vapor 2X Pro Goal Pant Review

If it's not broke don't fix it, that's what they say right? Well that's just what Bauer has done with the 2X Pro pant. The 1X was a great pant but there were still some areas that could be upgraded so instead of redesigning the pant, they made those keys upgrades while, remaining much the same.
Movement
Hands down these have to be one of the best I've seen in terms of movement. There's a few key upgrades that contribute to the movement of these pants, first of there's the DYNAMIC 2.Flex Hip System, which is Bauer's new advanced hip system allowing for more flex than ever before. Another great upgrade is the expanded stretch zones, by expanding the area of the spandex like material they have given the pant so much flex, you never feel like your in a spot where the pant may restrict your movement.
Extendable Length
A real cool feature back again for the 2X Pro pant is the 1” extendable length. The zipper at the waist extends the pants out another inch to help out those skinny guys with long legs or if your still growing that extra inch will give you a bit more life out of your pants.
Coverage
The coverage on the new 2X Pro is phenomenal the massive barrel legs on the pants give you maximum coverage. The Curv composite and molded hd foams on the inner leg allow for perfect 5 hole closure to make sure nothing squeaks through, which is personally one of my favorite parts about the pant. The front of the pant isn’t straight it has a slight curve but it doesn't take away from the coverage whatsoever the pants flare out very wide and take up a lot of space.
Comfort
These pants have to be the most comfortable I've wore, the thermocore liner is exceptionally comfortable and is going to keep you nice and cool. The thermocore liner is a new feature its replacing the transfer mesh with 37.5 technology previously seen on the 1X. The inner belt is also covered in thermocore for added comfort. All in all a very comfortable pant.
Inner / Outer belt
There is only one belt on the 2X Pro’s which can be worn with half inside and half outside or, can be worn just on the inside. The inner belt like I noted earlier is lined with the thermocore which is very comfortable definitely the best feeling inner belt I've tried.
Lacing
New to the 2X Pro is the Free-Flex Lace Closure, on the previous 1X you had no lacing whatsoever and relied on the stretchy fabric at the front to be holding closed your pants. Now Bauer has added in a simple lacing system seen on most pants, the laces can be run through the stomach pad or not if half the belt is ran through the outside of the pants.
Final Thoughts
I personally think the Bauer 2X Pro pant is the one to watch for 2019, we see a few key upgrades for the 1X pant that will really help your on ice performance. Bauer has taken a huge leap forward in the pant section with these, as I believe this is the best goal pant Bauer has made to date.
