Bauer Vapor 1XR Skates Review
An Inline Difference Maker
There was a period of time when the majority of inline players were screaming for ice-quality skates specifically designed for inline hockey. Bauer has heard these cries over the last few years, and have made good on their promise bringing their expertise to the inline hockey world. Introducing the Bauer Vapor 1XR inline specific skate.
Top to Bottom – Roll your way to a Win
Aluminized Curv Upper
With Bauer’s Aluminized Curv Composite and Carbon Outsole, inline players won’t even notice that you have skates on your feet. Providing elite level stiffness with Curv, you won’t miss a stride.
Inline hockey is quite different than ice in the fact that it’s a more of a run and gun type of game. Your abilities as a skater are quite heavily relied on, and you need a boot that is able to withstand the abuse of constant stops and starts, tight turns, and the harshness of an inline surface. Curv Composite, as well as the Carbon outsole, allow for supreme power transfer and the security of foot placement is optimal, allowing you to feel the inline surface.
37.5 Technology
Without a doubt Bauer has outdone themselves compared to years past. For inline skates, players always hope to find the lightest skate possible due to the added combination of wheels and chassis adding extra weight. Let’s face it, inline skates have always felt like bricks attached to your feet.
Bauer has created an incredibly lightweight skate that will remain that way during gameplay. This is heavily due to the inclusion of 37.5 Technology liner that evaporates moisture within the skate, providing a drier inner surface, and increased drying times after games.
Super Speed
Looking to gain even more speed? Look no further than the included Bauer Speed Plate which replaces a customary foam footbed, for something with a little more kick to add a bit of spring to your stride. During molding, the Speed Plate conforms to the bottom of your foot, creating a custom, supreme fit, allowing you to get the most out of your skate.
Speaking of speed, Bauer’s Kryptonium Chassis, is unlike anything seen on the competitors skates. Utilizing a well-known setup with Hi-Lo, meaning dual 76mm wheels in the front with two 80mm wheels in the back. The chassis also features a forward pitch which provides better balance and agility. Winning races or escaping traffic is effortless as the skate is a part of you. The chassis is incredibly strong so loss of power is non-existent, and is combined with a pro level wheel – the Revision Variant Plus provides excellent stopping power, and durability for various indoor inline surfaces.
Closing Thoughts
Bauer has created a lightweight, agile skate with a great fit out of the box that the majority of serious inline players having been dying to see the last few years. Unlike inline hockey skates before it, the Bauer Vapor 1XR doesn’t compromise anything for inline, and provides top end performance that inline players in that market expect and need.
