The Bauer SV-Pro line has officially arrived — and it’s turning heads for good reason. In a first for Bauer, the SV-Pro blends key elements from both the Vapor and Supreme lines into a single, high-performance package.
Positioned as a hybrid option, the SV-Pro aims to give goalies the best of both worlds: mobility and speed from Vapor, and the structure and rebound control from Supreme. The result? A dialed-in setup that offers pro-level performance at a competitive price point. Whether you're a long-time Bauer fan or considering a switch, the SV-Pro brings something new to the crease in 2025.
Designed for reactive goalies who prioritize quick, agile movements. The Vapor line is lightweight, soft-flexing, and ideal for hybrid goalies who play aggressively on their feet and value speed above all else.
The Supreme line is built for goalies who value efficient movements around the crease, opting for a more positional, butterfly style of play. The Bauer Supreme gear is known for delivering a solid foundation on ice, and explosive rebounds.
New for 2025, Bauer is streamlining their senior-level lineup by combining the X5 Pro and M5 Pro into a single line: the SV-Pro (Supreme-Vapor-Pro). This move simplifies the offering without sacrificing choice — instead, Bauer used feedback from their Pro Custom program to select the most preferred specs from each series.
The end result? A Vapor-style build with Supreme-inspired strapping and features, delivering a responsive, well-fitting pad that brings the best of both lines together.
First debuted by Logan Thompson, the Bauer SV-Pro gear has a sweet graphic that offers flexibility in design. Combining cut and sew leather, with indents and printed designs creates an intriguing amount of depth in the design. The use of sharp edges makes the gear look intimidating and aggressive, a perfect description for the gear itself.
If you’ve been wanting a custom set of gear without breaking the bank, the SV-Pro is here to deliver. Bauer is offering a custom program for the SV-Pro gear that allows goalies to customize the colours of the gear to match their jerseys perfectly, while also offering some spec options like stiffness, double or single T, and break angle.
The SV-Pro leg pads leverage a thin Vapor construction with a Curv Composite thigh rise to provide a reactive profile while maintaining it’s shape over time. The Curv Composite material is specifically engineered for long term durability, while also creating rigidity in the five-hole to prevent pucks from squeaking through.
The SV-Pro leverages Bauer’s Profile 1, the same soft flex point above and below the knee as used in the Bauer Vapor FLYLITE. The flex profile produces a leg pad that prioritizes mobility around the crease.
Similar to the new Vapor FLYLITE, the Bauer SV-Pro leg pads feature Bauer’s Reactive-FLEX Thick 100-degree Boot, designed to create a more responsive feel with faster recovery through it’s spring-like design. The 100-degree boot angle is designed to create an ergonomic fit, anchoring the skates to the boot while promoting ankle mobility and keeping rebounds tight around the net.
The SV-Pro features cut and sew leather, providing a traditional feel that has stood the test of time. The graphic features printed accents, adding some additionally details and complexity to the design.
Bauer introduces a new textured material along the inner gusset, named the Speed Slide Gusset. The smooth material feels similar to the Bauer SL1D3R skin and should provide a noticeable improvement in on-ice mobility. Additionally, the textured design reduces the level of friction along the ice for quicker movements.
The SV-Pro boasts a C.O.R.TECH knee stack and calf plate to optimize sliding for reduced friction and greater speed around the crease.
The Bauer SV-Pro comes equipped with the Vapor StabiliFlex knee block, an integrated landing that offers extra flex between the knee block and the core of the pad, when compared against the stiffer Supreme StabiliSlide. The overall knee block size has been increased, creating more landing area when dropping into the butterfly. Finally, Bauer redesigned its StabiliGrip to provide more leverage and control of the pad.
Created for a more reactive butterfly, the Balance Plate is designed to balance flex and stability versus the Supreme’s stability-first design. The SV-Pro also contains a streamlined calf plate, with an integrated calf pillow, to improve connection to the ice, while reducing friction.
The Bauer SV-Pro features Tune-Fit+ Strapping, a popular configuration from the Supreme Shadow line. Tune-Fit+ features two external Velcro straps and an internal calf strap for added control and balance. For goalies who prefer more control, it is possible to add Bauer’s professor strap to the SV-Pro.
The pads include the Supreme Bridge toe attachment, a thick foam piece allowing for centered or off-center mounting. Paired with the Pro Elastic Toe System, the toe box offers responsive movement and separation between pad and skate for better rotation and feel.
In store, a senior small (33+1.5”) leg pad weighs in at 2039 grams (4.5lbs), making the SV-Pro leg pads one of the lightest options on the market.
Similar to the Vapor FLYLITE glove, the SV-Pro features a full hand closure which will feel most similar to a 590 break. This closure brings fingertips to the base of the thumb while leveraging a full hand closure to maximize force. Alternatively, the SV-90 glove features Bauer’s overlap hand closure, which is designed to mimic a 580 break.
The SV-90 catcher is available in senior and intermediate sizing.
The new Fused Double T-Trap creates a large U-shaped design resulting in a pocket that presents itself 5% larger than the previous Vapor model, helping to contain pucks and reduce pop-outs.
The SV-Pro catcher feels quite thick in the palm and leverages Polycarbonate Palm Protection, designed to withstand and prevent stingers from the hardest of shots.
The cuff is reinforced with Bauer’s Curv Composite, designed to provide pro-level protection and durability. CURV Composite is specifically engineered for durability at low temperatures, reducing the likelihood of wear over time.
Similar to the FLYLITE, the backhand of the catcher keeps its Free-Flex design using Aerolite material for a breathable, lightweight fit. The open cuff enables goalies to achieve maximum mobility for flashy glove saves.
The glove features standard strapping to customize your fit. To secure the glove, the catcher features an exposed webbing pull strap, perfect for quick adjustments on the ice. To dial in leverage, the SV-Pro has multiple Velcro adjustments along the backhand and fingers, for a snug, reactive fit.
The catcher features a Nash liner, designed for comfort and control thanks to it’s moldability for the perfect fit. Near the fingers, goalies can expect grip lining for additional leverage when closing the glove.
The catcher weighs in at 985 grams (2.17lbs), offering great protection while maintaining a lightweight profile for extravagant windmills.
The SV-Pro blocker combines a Supreme-style polycarbonate board with Vapor-style sidewall geometry. The result is a blocker that delivers hard rebounds and strong protection while maintaining a slim, lightweight profile.
The SV-Pro blocker enhances finger protection with a new finger block, leveraging a Velcro hinge system to customize the coverage and protection. Bauer leverages its Defense Cloud Technology in the fingers for lightweight protection while Piano finger adjustments enable you to customize how tight and responsive the finger protection is.
Bauer’s 14.5” Connekt+ palm returns, giving a secure grip with great durability. Overall, this blocker is extremely comfortable thanks to the palm material and the stretch fingers which allow for simple mobility while still feeling snug.
The SV-Pro features a large volume cuff thanks to molded Aerolite. This design is to provide unlimited mobility and comfort, while remaining lightweight and breathable.
The SV-Pro blocker weighs in at 890 grams (1.96lbs), an impressively lightweight package for quick blocker saves.
The Bauer SV-Pro brings something truly new to the goalie gear world — a seamless blend of Vapor mobility and Supreme structure. Rather than making goalies choose between two distinct styles, Bauer has combined the best elements of both into one thoughtfully built package.
This line builds on the success of Bauer’s senior price point gear, while introducing key upgrades like the Speed Slide Gusset , a larger glove pocket , and a blocker that merges Supreme performance with Vapor-inspired feel . Add in the Vapor 90 glove option and expanded customization features , and the SV-Pro becomes even more appealing.
Overall, the Bauer SV-Pro delivers what most goalies are asking for: elite-level performance, versatile fit, and modern innovation — all at a competitive price point . It’s a gear set that checks every box, and I expect it to be a popular choice heading into the season.
