Bauer Nexus 1N Review
Another year, another big release from Bauer, the Nexus 1N – the premier stick in the Nexus line up has arrived. Every year Bauer releases something new for us to drool over, and this time it’s the revision to the Nexus lineup. With that true mid-kick profile that we’ve all loved for quite some time is finally getting some major improvements, let’s take a look.
Finding that sweet spot
Looking for deadly accuracy and effortless power? You’ve come to the right place. The 1N’s newest, most prominent feature is what Bauer calls – Nexus Sweet Spot Technology. Essentially, Bauer has found new ways to use carbon fiber within the structure of the stick to provide an easier, smoother use of energy during shooting. With the Nexus lineup being known for mid-motion shots, the 1N takes it to the next level with an effortless release. All in all, this lets you put the puck in the back of the net more often, with greater accuracy. Coupled with that nifty Nexus Sweet Spot Technology, the Mid Kick Point that Nexus has always been known for reacts to the players hand position during shooting for effortless loading and release.
In the grand scheme of things, both of these technologies work together to provide a larger sweet spot zone in the middle of the shaft – indicated by the graphic of the stick. This will give you a greater range of motions and provide more power on different types of shots. Who can complain about more power right?
Feeling the puck
Knowing where the puck is on the blade of your stick at all times is essential, and Bauer has brought Power Sense Core 2 to the Nexus 1N. An updated process has allowed Bauer to integrate the TeXtreme Carbon Fiber directly to the Sense Layer for even better puck feel. The Core 2 brings overall blade weight down for a more balanced stick, and improves dampening performance when you receive pass or take shots. Power Sense Core 2 has been an important upgrade on Bauer sticks, and Nexus fans can rejoice with its introduction to the Nexus lineup.
For players outside the top end stick market can look no further than the Nexus N6000 which provides that same great mid-kick flex profile with added Sweet Spot Technology for those deadly shots. With composite construction and a Pro blade profile, players can expect Nexus performance without breaking the bank.
