The Brian's Smart Toe Cord uses the familiar attachment of the Smartstrap toe found on Brian's pads today. The cords allow for greater flexibility in the ankle and boot of the pad, letting the goalies skate plant much easier compared to traditional lace systems.
The extra give also helps with tension on both the knees and hips, which are essential in the goalie world. The velcro attachment also means that the speedy dressing that was expected of regular smart straps still exists with the Brian's smart toe cord.
