This season Bauer introduces the Bauer Vapor HyperLite Hockey Helmet. Building on the success of the Re-Akt 150, the Hyperlite helmet combines Bauer’s patented FreeForm system with a two-piece shell and the revolutionary Shocklite Foam Technology. Built on the foundation of Bauer’s mission to perfect lighter, quicker, and stronger products, this cutting edge hockey helmet is truly built for the elite level hockey player looking to bring their game to the next level.
Outer Shell Construction
After mastering the Re-Akt 150 FreeForm system, Bauer has optimized the Hyperlite even further to a two-piece shell with variable shell thicknesses in key areas. Bauer has combined the two-piece shell with a high occipital cut profile to reduce the shell weight even further.
Even though the Hyperlite is an astonishing 20% lighter than its predecessor the Re-Akt 150, Bauer did not lose track of the importance of comfort and fit to the player's head. The Hyperlite has optimized the head position in the shell so the player has a deeper fit and more secure wrap.
Internal Foams & Liner
New this season, Bauer introduces their new Shocklite Foam Technology. This revolutionary foam is built into all 5 key zones of the helmet for lightweight protection and comfort without sacrificing impact performance.
Bauer subjected each piece to over 2000 impact tests and 1500 plus hours of impact testing to ensure the Hyperlite is top-tier. The Shocklite Foam technology combined with the molded XRD multi-density foam protects the head across all energy levels. Finally, the liner is infused with memory foam and moisture channels to promote cooling, and ensure a comfortable wrap of the head.
Fit & Sizing Adjustments
The Bauer Hyperlite helmet has an independent width and length adjustment system that can be adjusted through three tool-free adjustment hinges/clamps. The width adjustment clamps are located just behind each ear cover and the length clamp can be found along the summit of the helmet. This FreeForm customization system allows for 18mm of width adjustment, which is approximately 2.5 times more than any other helmet on the market.
Bauer has also restructured their sizing in the Hyperlite model to two size ranges Small/Medium and Medium Large. Check out our size guide to find your perfect fit.
S/M: Head Circumference: 54 cm - 59 cm / 21.2 inches - 23.2 inches
M/L: Head Circumference: 57 cm - 62.5 cm / 22.4 inches - 24.6 inches
Certification
The Bauer Hyperlite helmet is certified with HECC (Hockey Equipment Certification Council), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and CE (European Community) certification. These stickers indicate their compliance with the applicable standards in different leagues.
Sizes & Colors
The Bauer Vapor HyperLite Hockey Helmet is available in Black, White, Royal, Navy, and Red. Bauer has also altered their sizing options with the new hybrid sizing Small/Medium, and Medium/Large to target a wider range of head profiles.

Hockey Helmet Sizing
Sizing before Purchase
To fit for your proper sized helmet you will need a soft tape measure. Take this tape measure and have another person snugly wrap it around your head at the largest point, usually just above the eyebrows (see left). Record this measurement of circumference and compare it to the available sizing charts in the brand of helmet you are looking at.
Sizing after Purchase
To ensure a good fit after you have received your proper sized helmet, flip open and unlock the helmet clip(s) and slide the helmet to its last and largest setting. Position it on the head so the rim is one finger width above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet, pressing on the front and back until a comfortable, snug fit is achieved. Lock the helmet into this size by pressing down and closing the locking adjustment(s). Look in a mirror while wearing the helmet to make sure the ear guards are covering at least half of your ear and to make sure the helmet does not appear to be shifting back and forth on your head.
It is recommended to use a mouth guard although not required. It is recommended that players wear HECC and CE Certified helmets and in Hockey Canada sanctioned leagues it is required for helmets to be CSA approved. CSA, HECC and CE Certified stickers are fixed to the helmets indicating their certification.
